Last week, Holy Family students received an email from the Green Team at our university. Now, if you’re anything like me, these emails usually make it to the trash folder before they’re ever read. This time, though, I accidentally opened it and I couldn’t have been happier about my mistake. The email featured big news for any student who drinks water on campus.
As any Holy Family student knows, it is practically impossible to bring a reusable water bottle to school because none of the water fountains work well enough to actually refill the bottle. And buying a bottle of water on campus can become very costly, very fast at $1.50 per water.
So what’s the big news?
The Holy Family Green Team installed a brand new water bottle refilling station on the second floor of Holy Family Hall.
Now students will actually be able to bring reusable water bottles without worrying about whether or not the water pressure in the fountains will be strong enough to make it into the bottle. While the Green Team was only able to install one of these new water stations, this is a big step for the environment and an even bigger step for the broke college students on campus.
