Sometimes having an older sibling that's so much older than you can seem like a curse. But, there are way more reasons it's amazing than there are reasons it sucks. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

1. You get to know all the good music

Music from when she was a teenager is no longer cool or played on the radio. You grow up listening to her music all the time. As a result, you already know about Blink-182 for when they become cool again.

2. You get a protector.

Because you're the baby, she's willing to do anything to protect you. Whether it be a mean girl or a rude boy, she'll be ready to drop someone if need be.

4.She's already been through it.

Everything that you're going through, she's already done it. High school, boys, girls, drama, all of it. As a result, she knows what's going on in your head and how to help.

5. She gives great advice.

On that note, when it comes to giving advice, hers is always great. Sure, sometimes it will feel like a lecture, but at the end of the day...she usually ends up being right. You'll hate this sometimes, but it's a blessing.

6. She has a house.

And she'll let you stay there whenever you need. You can escape when you're fighting with your parents or when you just need a break from life. Plus, she usually has great food and will make you dinner.

7. You can steal her clothes.

Whether it be old prom dresses, shoes, or business clothes (for when you need to adult), she's got it. When you were younger you got the hand-me-downs, but now that you two are the same size, your closet doubles. She secretly hates this sometimes, but lets it happen.

8. She can be a mediator between you and your parents.

She's got years of experience dealing with your parents. She knows how to calm them down. When you need a compromise or really want to do something, she's the one you go to for help. She knows how to work them better than you do.

9. You get treated like an only child.

You get to live like an only child for a while with all the perks of having a sibling. You don't have to share the bathroom or your food or your car, but you still have an amazing person to look up to.

10. Her friends become your friends.

All her friends love you. When you were younger, she hated it. But now that you're an adult, it's okay. You get to have friends of all different ages and different perspectives. It's great. They become like older siblings too.

11. She'll take you to do cool things.

She'll take you to concerts and shows and take you hiking. All the things that you can't do with your parents, you can do with her. She always seems to know cool things to do that you never would have thought of.

12. She can teach you how to do your make up.

She already went through that awkward phase of not knowing how to apply foundation and bright colored eye shadow. When you get to this stage, she can prevent you from looking like a Bratz doll and teach you how to do things the right way.

13. She'll end up marrying someone.

She ends up marrying someone really cool. It'll feel like you lose her for a little bit, but you end up gaining a brother who is also super cool. It's like a two for one deal.

14. She'll let you do things your parents won't.

Having your boyfriend over, having friends over, staying out late, buying that top... She'll let you do things that your parents might cringe at. She'll still be watchful, but she knows what's up.

15. She's always there for you.

She will be your best friend. She'll never leave. She'll love you forever, even when you are fighting and you've screwed up royally. She's always there and always will be.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
