There's a reason they're called GRANDparents

Not many people have the opportunity to truly get to know their grandparents. Most of the people I know have only known one set or one grandparent total. I ,however, was extremely lucky growing up. I got to know all four of my grandparents. I was given the gift of getting to spend time with four immensely different people. I learned so very much and heard a wide variety of stories. I have memories which will stick with me forever along with their life lessons. My grandparent's impact has been everlasting.

They were there for every milestone, my kindergarten graduation, my high school graduation, my first day of college, they were there. They helped me prepare for each one and supported me all the way through with actions and words of encouragement. I can not imagine beginning a new chapter of my life without them.

The older I have gotten, the more I have grown to appreciate my grandparents. Although they seem invincible, fate is willing to test that just like it does with everyone else. You never know what could happen so it is important that we cherish these people while they are a part of our everyday life. They have seen so much more of the world than we have. They have lived through amazing historical events and seen things that we only read about in history books. They have so much to tell us and teach us if we would let them.

Not only that, grandparents have watched you grow from the time you could not use a spoon to adulthood. They have seen you transform into the person you are today. In fact, they influenced the person you have become today. Without them, you would be a completely different person.

Overall, life is too short not to appreciate the people in your life that love you. You do not know what could happen so cherish the moments and the memories before they become only that, memories. Enjoy every moment spent with them and let them know how much they mean to you because they deserve to know.

This was written in memory of my Grandma and Grandpa.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
