Oh Wonder!

Live from Cannery Ballroom in good ole Nashville, we saw the UK's best group perform and it was chilling!

As a huge fan of music, I really like to follow my favorite artists as often as I can, in the hopes that I will eventually meet them, or that my fandom actually means something. Really, I just go to these frequent shows because of my love for music itself.

I recently invested in an app that is linked to my music accounts, that will notify me when my favorite artists are playing in concerts near me (don't download it if you're weak like I am). Of course, I went crazy for this app.

I bought tickets to my favorite groups as far as Frankie Cosmos, No Vacation, SALES, Weezer, and now there was Oh Wonder. I was so excited for this concert, but I didn't want to be there too early. So my boyfriend and I got there like ten minutes beforehand. I think it was for the best, because we couldn't seem to find a decent spot to stand at all. I am really short, and everyone else is really tall compared to me.. so I was having trouble either way. Another note: hats need to be banned from concerts because it only makes it worse for us shorties.

Anyways, the concert opened up with an artist named Sasha Sloan who came from Los Angeles. She was pretty good, but I couldn't understand what she was singing, because her drums were hella loud. She had great energy too, but I felt a little bad since she closed the show with, "Thanks guys! Go buy a CD so my label doesn't drop me!" I was thinking to myself that I would rather listen to her music on Spotify or something of the nature, because I have access to it all through there.

Then they waited another thirty minutes to set up for Oh Wonder... which felt like for-freaking-ever. I was standing there... moving around to find another decent spot.

Thirty minutes later, Oh Wonder comes on the stage! I went crazy! I was so thrilled to be seeing them in concert! They had the coolest light show! They had other band members, also Josephine (the only female in the group) brought her younger brother on the stage and he played saxophone during "Lose It" and OH MY GOD. It was the most surreal musical experience I have ever encountered!

Listening to Josephine and Anthony talk during or between their songs was the cutest and coolest thing ever. Josephine has so much energy, and Anthony had so many jam sessions during the songs. I just couldn't contain my joy, really. I was so happy to be there! I didn't get tired of their energy or music for a single second. I felt SO much energy during their song, "Heavy."

I had waited for a long time for a concert that I could feel the music through me, and I could not have been more impressed. They are such good artists, and they know how to perform well and just put on the best show. I personally think they make the best music live. People were having a good time all over. Everyone's hands were up...everyone was dancing... everyone was cheering. I just hope they enjoyed the energy us Nashville folk gave to them!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
