17 Steps To Move On From Your Ex

Become Ariana Grande so you can (truthfully) say you've got "no tears left to cry."

Everyone grieves and moves on a little differently. Still, most of us will go through these 17 steps to moving on in some way or another. Whether or not it was mutual, some breakups can be hell to get through. But you will move on.

1. Cry. A lot.

Giphy

Just all the tears. You see the hat he gave you. Tears. You think about cuddling with him. Tears. You hear a song. Tears. Stay hydrated.

2. Post something passive aggressive on Twitter

Giphy

It's honestly a right of passage. My favorite is, "Well that wasn't the shortest relationship I've had, but it was pretty dang close."

3. Go out with your girls

Giphy

"Single and ready to mingle!" is something you are expected to post on your Snap story. Bonus points if he watches it.

4. See your ex with a new girl. Text him something rude.

Giphy

It's way too early to start dating! Talking to people is one thing, but actually dating? C'mon!

5. Block your ex

Giphy

You've gotta find some way to stop looking at his social media every three hours. This is the best option.

6. Realize you've cried yourself to sleep every day for a week

Giphy

Cry more because of it. Then you'll decide right then that you're like Ariana Grande; you've got "no tears left to cry."

7. Make a breakup playlist

Giphy

It's a mix of girl-power songs and songs you recognize used to make you cry, but you've gotta end that cycle somehow! Check out the perfect breakup playlist here.

8. Unblock and then text your ex. Be sure to say something crazy.

Giphy

Such as, "I hate you because I still love you." Honestly, he's not gonna care, but he might block you for being so crazy. It's a good way to stop stalking his pictures!

9. Tell yourself you're gonna get your act together so when he sees you, he'll regret everything

Giphy

You're looking hot; walk into class and cry a little. Just make sure you look away so he can't see you.

10. Rebound! Cry driving home from your date

Giphy

Just when you think you're doing great and getting back out there, your emotions hit you like a truck! Surprise!

11. Eat your feelings

Giphy

Ice cream, pizza, chocolate, chips, really anything to dull the pain.

12. Realize you're finally interested in someone

Giphy

Maybe this time you won't almost start crying when you hang out with the guy! A girl can dream, right?

13. Realize he's not interested in you

Giphy

Friendzoned. Okay. It's fine. I'm fine. Everything is fine.

14. See your ex randomly in public

Giphy

You walk very quickly in the opposite direction, go to the bathroom and cry. When you come to your senses, you walk out of there like the boss you are.

15. Get super busy for a few months

Giphy

You barely have time to breathe between work, school, extracurriculars and catching up with friends!

16. Meet a guy

Giphy

He makes your heart soar. You gush about him to your friends constantly, and you are always so excited to see him. Also, so hot!

17. Realize you're finally over your ex

Giphy

You've finally moved on! And honestly at this point, it's not even a big deal that you moved on because all you can think about is the next time you'll see your new guy.

When you're going through a breakup, sometimes it feels like the pain will never end. Know that it will and every failed relationship is just a step towards your final failed relationship. After that, all you have is forever.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
