Vision Of Travel

Walking to class is hard enough but then obstacles have to go and make it even more difficult. We already hate walking to class because it means we are about to sit through an hour-long lecture and then the world decided to create more problems. If you haven’t faced one of these below I’m sure it’s because you never go to class.

1. Bicyclists

They won’t slow down for you and they definitely don’t understand the concept of personal space.

2. Slow walkers

Some of us like to get to class on time or even just simply walk at a decent pace.

3. Skateboarders

Freshman year I was trampled by someone on a skateboard and we went down to the ground together.

4. Cars

The one obstacle we all think of running in front of to pay our tuition.

5. Golf-carts

I swear those employees on the golf carts don’t acknowledge the fact that they are sharing the sidewalk with pedestrians.

6. The heat

I almost pass out trying to get to class every day during the months of March-October.

7. The cold

I almost freeze to death trying to get to class every day during the months of November-February. Sometimes I even bring a blanket.

8. The rain

I don’t know about you but I find it a little hard to walk through rivers to get to class.

9. Protestors

“Wow, it’s such a nice day out.” That is what I thought until I walk past a protestor yelling at me for something I did wrong.

10. People with flyers

I’ve found that if you call your mom/dad while walking to class you can bypass this annoying obstacle.

11. Football players on hover boards

They tend to carry mini speakers as well so watch out because they don’t have an extra hand to help if they run into you.

12. The hills

You don’t even realize you are walking uphill until your hamstrings start to cramp up.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
