Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, what is that? According to Google when you search Obsessive Compulsive it means, "denoting or relating to a disorder in which a person feels compelled to perform certain meaningless actions repeatedly in order to alleviate obsessive fears or intrusive thoughts, typically resulting in severe disruption of daily life" (https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-insta... )

This disorder is actually very common, millions of people are affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I am one who has OCD and here is an itinerary of what a typical day looks like for those with this disorder...

7:00AM
Wake up, stretch a bit, roll over a few times, and stretch some more. Roll over to look at your phone check in on all social media and/or messages. Scroll through again on one of the social media pages, just to make sure you're not missing any information.

7:10AM
Time to get up, sit on the edge of the bed for some time to contemplate on what the day will look like.

7:15AM
Hop off the bed, pace around the room and see if anything moved (even though nothing can move). Grab your toothbrush, toothpaste, and anything else you need to go to the bathroom in order to get ready. As you're walking out of your dorm room, unlock the door so you don't have to bring the keys. Check that you actually did it. Then, check one more time. Go to the bathroom and get somewhat ready in there.

7:20AM
Come back to the room and get dressed. Pack your bag and then close it. Put it on to walk out the door. Oops, you think you forgot something. Re-open the bag, nothing is missing. Try again. Success, you are out the door.

7:30AM
Breakfast time! What is there to eat, though? Do some circles around the dining hall a few times to look around and end up right at the same station where you always do. When it's time to pick out dishes and silverware, go through all of them to find the cleanest looking ones.

8:00AM-1:00PM
First to class, have to get there before the other people, in order to make sure no one else will take your seat. Go up and ask the professor if they got your homework, even though you know for a fact you already submitted it. Write down notes and freak out a little bit when the professor changes the slide before you're done writing the notes.

2:00PM-3:00PM
Work-study time on campus. Getting that hour in for the day, working at the computer. You get side-tracked and start thinking... "Did I leave my hair straightener on? I don't even use my hair straightener. Is my wallet in the car? Hope it didn't fall out." Rush out of work to go make sure everything is still where you placed it. Everything is fine.

4:00PM-6:00PM
Do some homework. Start overthinking if your notes are wrong or if you missed anything. Or did you write the due dates and homework down wrong? Go check on-line. Nope, everything is right. Stop worrying.

6:30PM
Get some dinner. Do the same thing as breakfast, look around a few times, but go right back to what you usually get. Start thinking, "Are they judging me on how I eat? Or am I eating too much?"

7:00PM
Shower time! This is the best place to think and by that, it's the best place to overthink and become paranoid. "Did those girls look at me earlier cuz I'm ugly?" "Did my boyfriend cheat on me?" "Why did he never call?" All of this stuff could have happened or been first originally thought of like a year before.

8:00PM-9:00PM
Do some last minute homework, that isn't due till two weeks from now.

10:00PM
Get ready for bed. Once you're in bed, you overthink on everything that happened during the day or what others said. This is keeping you up later than you wanted. Check your phone five different times, to make sure you know everything that is going on around you.

11:00PM
Finally fall asleep while using your phone. Then, during the night wake up off and on panicking about stupid small stuff that doesn't matter. Things such as, did you return all your dishes to get cleaned in the dining hall? Probably did, but you're going to think otherwise.

Next day: Repeat.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
