Greys Anatomy is LIFE

Why I Am Obsessed With 'Grey's Anatomy'
Season 8 Greys Anatomy

Greys Anatomy consumes my life, it's literally my addiction. I have caught myself watching it on Netflix at the gym and tears will be rolling down my cheeks as I am on the stair stepper. I know people probably stare at me thinking "what is this girls problem." There are no words to describe the love I have towards this show. Even though Shonda Rhimes likes to kill off characters every other season, there is something about the show that makes you never want to stop watching it.

From their dance parties, to being each others support system through heartbreak, Cristina and Meredith are friendship goals without a doubt. I mean they survived a plane crash together.. What can these two not do? Cristina continued to perform surgery on Derek while a gun was pointed at her... That is some loyalty to your "person" right there. She knew how in love Meredith was with Derek so she risked her own life for Meredith's relationship. They share their love for Tequila, a dark and twisted mind set, and their passion for surgery together. Out of all the TV "best friends," Meredith and Cristina win.

Patrick Dempsey, A.K.A Dr Shepard, and A.K.A Mcdreamy was the definition of a true gentleman. He was the best neurosurgeon, friend, husband, and father. He won every woman's heart during the show. Only Dr. Shepard would propose to his future wife in an elevator. How cute was that?! When Derek wrote down their vows on a Post it and they framed it.. UGH SO CUTE. "Love each other when we hate each other, No running, Take care when old, senile, and smelly. And it's forever." Derek was such an amazing husband, why did Shonda decide it would be a good idea to make Derek get hit by a car and die? The world will never understand. R.I.P to the hottest doctor and most loving character on the show.

Greys Anatomy takes you on this depressing, happy, and inspirational roller coaster throughout all 12 seasons. People always ask me, "why do you love the show so much if it makes you cry all the time?" And My response is "you don't get it until you actually watch the show!" Which is so true, you don't understand the connection you develop with the characters until your a few episodes in. From operating on each other in dangerous conditions, holding each other while they scream and cry, or having everyone over for Thanksgiving dinner, all of the surgeons take care of each other like family. This group of surgeons have been through hell and back together.

Last but not least, Meredith Grey is freakin super woman. Even though she is a pessimist and has a crazy twisted mind, you can't help but love her and feel for her. When she pretty much tried to drown herself and at times just wanted to give up, us fans wanted to fight for her. She is such a loyal and amazing friend to all the surgeons. She speaks her mind and doesn't deal with bull shit. The amount of trauma she has gone through within all the seasons is unreal. A plane Crash, holding a bomb, loosing both parents, and being attacked by a patient; Meredith has seen and done it all.

In the end, for the people that say Greys Anatomy is too dramatic and is not worth watching.. You are lying to yourself. Greys Anatomy is by far the best show on TV. I know I might sound stupid talking about all these fictional characters as if they are real people in my life, but once again if you watch Greys you know how I feel. The show reaches out to all the fans and makes us cherish the good times, mourn the losses, and makes us feel as if we are apart of the show (which we think we are). If Greys Anatomy were to go till like season 80, I wouldn't be upset; even though at that point, there is a good chance all the characters would be dead (knowing Shonda Rhimes). LUCKILY, season 13 is coming out very soon, I know all of us die hard fans can't wait to see what is in store for us at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
