Say hello to your new favorite venues.

Where To Go Out In New York City If You're Under 21

New York City seems like the ideal place to spend a Friday or Saturday night since there is so much to do and see. After all, it is "the city that never sleeps!" Unfortunately, this can get tricky for those of us who are under 21, since many of the best venues are exclusive and require you to be over 21 to enter. This leaves us who are underage looking in from the outside and counting the days until you can triumphantly flash your driver's license to the bouncer, and not be told to keep walking.

Luckily, a few hidden gems exist that allow the 18-and-up crowd to get in on the action, and legally at that! Say hello to your new favorite place to visit not only on the weekends, but any night of the week: The New York Comedy Club!

Located at 241 East 24th Street, The New York Comedy Club offers reasonably priced tickets ranging from $15 to $25, depending on the time of the show. Of course, as with most places in the city, there is a mandatory minimum of two drinks for those who can partake, or $17 worth of food and soft drink per person. Speaking from experience, the price is well worth it.

I purchased my ticket for the 11:15 p.m. show on a Saturday night online earlier that day. When I handed the hostess my ticket, I was given a voucher that admits two to a future night at the Club. Inexpensive date night? Score! The New York Comedy Club's website advises the audience to arrive a half hour prior to showtime, and I cannot stress this enough. I was able to sit in the front row, which was so close that I was able to touch the stage! The level of interaction and intimacy I felt with each performer was priceless.

In retrospect, my proximity to the stage did not necessarily impact how much I enjoyed the evening. The venue itself is on the smaller side, and the comedians are experts at commanding the room and making each and every member of the audience feel included.

Of course, how could I forget to mention the outstanding talent? The lineup was a fantastic mix that had something for everyone. From MTV stars, to former 'Saturday Night Live' cast members, and every breed of comedian in between, the variety was spectacular. The entire show was over two and a half hours, and I was not bored once.

New York Comedy Club, you have earned yourself a fan. You will be seeing me again soon! Thank you for proving that it is possible to have a night out in the city without yet being 21; although I will mention, though, that the bar selection was fantastic, and I will be back once I am of age to do my fair share of sampling.

Have any of you been here before? What are your thoughts? Also, if there are other venues that are 18-and-up, share in the comments, so that more people can enjoy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
