With the exception of Chandler Bing, almost everyone loves Thanksgiving. Even though the food is really the only reason you need to love it, there’s also; the parade, football, people you love and if you’re like my family, boose.
We all know when you are excited for something, the days leading up to the event move much slower than normal days. So, here are some things you can do to pass the time:
1. Go hiking
No this isn’t something made in Photoshop, it’s a real place called Blue Ridge, Georgia. To me, hiking is just a scary form of walking, but I would for sure wrap up my weak little ankles to see this view. The full album of pictures can be found on this darling little blog right here.
2. Corn maze
This extravagant corn maze exists in Meridian, ID and is called Farmstead Corn Maze. Personally, I would have to pack an over night bag and wait for the search party to find me, but if you’re interested in something less challenging here’s a website that will locate a corn maze according to your location.
3. Netflix (and chill? Up to you)
buzzfeed.com / Adam Ellis
I highly recommend wasting a day in bed with a cup of tea (or coffee, whatever does it for ya) and throwing yourself into a movie marathon or TV show binge. Everyone needs a day of nothing now and then, and to make your lazy day even lazier, here’s a link that has some great movies for your enjoyment.
4. Hay Rides
Whether it’s a day out with the family, or a romantic sunset hayride with your significant other, this is always a fun fall activity. Don’t forget a blanket to sit on (so the hay doesn’t poke your booty!) and one to snuggle up with of course.
5. Bonfires
After the hayride, break out the marshmallows and/or hotdogs to roast and help bring a little bit of summer back into the frosty fall nights.
6. Tailgating and Football Games
Personally, I’ve been to never been tailgating, and I don’t understand football, but my friends insta posts sure make it look fun! Looking for ways to improve your tailgating game? Click this link, and see how the pros do it!
7. Find a good fall themed recipe to try on Thanksgiving
The possibilities are endless! Drinks, breakfast, side dishes, desserts, Pinterest has it all. Look, I already typed in the tags for you.
8. Go the movies
I know movie tickets are about nine hundred dollars a pop these days, but the price drops if you go to a matinee! Also, some places give a discount with a student or military ID. Check out the movies out now and the ones coming in November right here.
9. Learn to knit a chunky scarf
There’s this thing called “hand knitting”, and its SO easy. Your end product is a huge chunky scarf that you can burry your cute little face in while waking to class. They also make great Christmas presents for your family and friends. Plus, you can start and finish one within 30 minutes once you get the technique right. Just make sure you pee first, because...well you’ll see why.
10. Try pumpkin flavored everything!!!!

Yummmmmmmm.
