Summer anywhere is arguably the best time of year, but Midwesterners do it best!

1. Sunsets

2. Fairs

We've all enjoyed plenty of fairs, but the ones in the Midwest simply cannot be beat. The best rides, the best food, the best people... need I go on?

3. Weekends on the lake

Swimming, boating, tubing, jet-skiing, fishing, not to mention the serenity... what more could you ask for?

4. Music festivals

Some of the best summer music festivals are located right in the heart of the Midwest. Summerfest and Lollapalooza, anyone?

5. Baseball

The Boys of Summer play well in the heart of the Midwest. And the local baseball games are often the place to be in small towns, too!

6. Grilling Out

Grilling out isn't necessarily exclusive to the Midwest, but I like to argue that we do it best. At any cookout, you can find an abundance of incredible food. Brats, hot dogs, hamburgers, watermelon, corn on the cob, pie...
