Feeling adventurous? Craving nature's vibes? Ready to see all that Earth has in store and more? Take a hike! No seriously, Take a hike! See what this beautiful word has to offer. From rock climbing, to waterfalls, to historic landmarks, there's lots to discover when embarking on your adventure. Explore the following hiking spots definitely worth checking out this summer:

West Essex Trail

The West Essex Trail begins in Verona, New Jersey and ends in Cedar Grove. It is flat land for the most part, and highly suggested for beginner hikers. This simple stroll that feels like a walk in the park will lead you to a serene scene, worth all the walking you engage in.

Mills Reservation

Mills Reservation, stretching from Cedar Grove to Montclair, New Jersey, is another cool hiking spot you won't want to miss out on this summer. This reservation has multiple paths, all easy to navigate. You can even see the city skyline in the distance at points. If you're looking to hike with your pet this trail is highly recommended.

Garret Mountain

Garret Mountain is best known for the Lambert Castle, which you'll definitely want to check out while having a water break. This building, along with other medieval-resembling figures, gives this hike a historic feel. What I find most unique about this area located in West Paterson, New Jersey, is its full circle layout, including not only trails, but roads to walk on as well.

Ramapo Reservation

Ramapo Reservation, located in Mahwah, New Jersey, is a very popular spot to hike this summer. There are numerous trails to follow, giving you a new adventure to set forth on every time you revisit this plot of land. Some trails are simple, while others are uphill and strenuous. This nice variation makes Ramapo Reservation enjoyable for all types of hikers. Ramapo Reservation is the perfect place to fish, as well as swim after a hot summer hike.

Pyramid Mountain

Pyramid Mountain extends throughout Boonton, Kinnelon and Montville and consists of more quiet and peaceful trails. It is an excellent place to get away, sit, relax and reflect. Although these paths are a bit rocky while hiking, the workout you'll receive in return is phenomenal. Be sure to check out the well-known Tripod Rock while exploring these woods!

High Mountain Park Preserve

High Mountain Park Preserve, located in Wayne and North Haledon, New Jersey right near William Paterson University is another rigorous, rewarding hike to conquer. You won't be disappointed when you see the clear views of Northern New Jersey, and even New York City. This trail is favored amongst bicyclists.

Stairway to Heaven Trail

And of course, I saved the best for last—the Stairway to Heaven Trail located in Vernon, New Jersey. If you have not checked this hike out yet make it a priority to do so this summer. It may have been one of the hardest mountains I've climbed so far, but the treacherous slope led me to pure beauty and this astonishing view. Don't forget to check out the boardwalk section of this hike located across the street!

Get your sneakers and sunglasses ready, and use this guide to pick out your next adventure in Northern New Jersey this summer. Save travels, my hike-aholics!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
