Next Acts for Auburn Airwaves

UPC put on a fine showing, making my middle school dreams come true by bringing my favorite Jonas Brother, Nick, to my favorite place, Toomer's Corner. Nelly and Kesha were a total bonus. So, to give my favorite council some suggestions here's ten totally reasonable suggestions for their acts for next year.

First of all, let's move it back to the Auburn Arena, so we don't have to deal with lash-back from the city for having (in)appropriate artists perform at a college concert.

1. Hunter Hayes

When Hunter Hayes was announced as one of the 7 potential artists at Rodeo, I realized that all I ever "Wanted" was to see him in Auburn!

2. Tyler Ward

If you haven't seen him on YouTube, go do yourself a favor and look this cutie up. He's sure to be the next big star, and his covers are PHENOMENAL.

3. WALK THE MOON

Apparently, their band name is all in caps. But I can't get enough of "Shut Up And Dance With Me", and I know I would be jumping along to this song and their whole set!

4. Echosmith

I'm currently loving their song "Bright", and we all chilled to "Cool Kids" earlier this year. I'm sure with a couple more singles under their belt, they'd be an awesome addition to next year's Airwaves.

5. Sam Hunt

OK, we all loved "Leave the Night On", but I cannot get enough of the speak-singy "Take Your Time". Not to mention, he's easy on the eyes.

6. Iggy Azalea

I know all the words to "Fancy", and I think she's super chill.

7. Can we go out on a limb and have some awesome EDM artist like Martin Garrix, or David Guetta, or Afrojack?

Something Auburn normally doesn't get a taste of.

8. Selena Gomez

She actually has some great music. I have seen her live and can attest to her awesome performance skills.

9. Jason Derulo

Because this song is infectious.

10. One Direction

Is there a discount for losing Zayn Malik?

Bonus: Nick Jonas again.

Because why not?

War Eagle to that.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
