Disney just got down with their D23 Expo, and boy did they deliver!
As a fellow Disney lover, aspiring future Cast Member, and overall human being, I am super excited for the new additions they are adding. These do, however, come with a price, and hopefully, Rumple won't be the one signing the deals.
The first announcement was the big one.
Star Wars!
You may have seen on Facebook different videos with the news that Disney is adding a Star Wars Land in 2019. This is totally true! Not only is it arriving at Disney World, but Disney Land as well! This is huge because Disney doesn't add much to the park out in California.
The last big update was Cars World back in 2012.
Stars Wars: Galaxy's Edge will make its debut in 2019, just a couple years before Disney World's 50th anniversary. Just like Disney did with Pandora, Galaxy's Edge will be completely immersive! I, for one, am super excited. Who wouldn't want to fly their own Millenium Falcon?
Not only will there be a Star Wars land, but there will be a Star Wars resort! Again, 100% immersive! According to the chairman of the Resorts,
"You'll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire."
Although there is no release date yet, you can bet that this resort will be highly anticipated.
They also unveiled new ride attractions for the current parks. We get new rides!
Guardians of the Galaxy will get a spot in Epcot, but it will replace the current ride Universe of Energy. If you're unaware of Universe of Energy, it is a nice slow ride with Ellen and Bill Nye narrating different kinds of energy. Perfect for beating the heat.
The second is a Ratatouille-themed ride that will be in the France pavilion, where you will get to shrink to Remi's size and run around the kitchen.
Both of these will be out in 2021, just in time for Disney World's 50th!
Personally, I can't wait until these rides come out! You won't be able to get me off of them.
Let me know in the comments which new addition you're more excited for!
