Dear T,

It was August 9th, 2013 when you and Camilla said "Happy Belated Birthday" and I can't thank you enough for it. We have been inseparable for 5 years now. We have come up with nicknames for one another and built unbreakable bonds with the people around us. We have gone through horrible times and we have gone through incredible memories. As I sit here and write this letter to you, there are tears in my eyes simply thinking of all of the amazing things we have gone through.

It feels as if it were just yesterday when we were roaming the halls of high school trying to keep up with everything. Now, we are roaming our college campus still trying to keep it together but on a different level. This is our last year being "teenagers" and I simply wanted to write you this letter before this year was over.

Thank you for treating me like family. Every time I go around your family I feel so loved. Nana and mom have always been so sweet to me. Now we even have a new member of the family! I am so excited to see her grow up. I know you will be the absolute best person for her. I thank you for allowing me to get so close to your family. I am also extremely happy that you have come to know my family. My parents love you and everyone knows you.

Cheers to all of our memories. I live for our downtown dates filled with delicious foods and uncontrollable laugh. Some of the best memories we have are simply lying down talking about life and venting to one another. You have always been there and I appreciate you so much for that.

I can't wait for all of our future travels. Chicago was simply phenomenal and I cannot wait until we make another trip out. We have also stayed local visiting friends in Kalamazoo which has also been extremely exciting and fun.

Cheers to our futures. I live for the conversations we have on those nights that life gets tough as we think about our futures. I know you will do amazing things in life. You will make a difference in this world. And I cannot simply wait to be by your side seeing you grow and become such a strong individual.

College will be tough the next couple of years but I simply want to tell you that I will be here. I will be here when you pass your finals to takes you out for shakes and celebrate the occasion. I will also be there on those nights where life gets tough and everything seems to be falling apart. I will be there with sushi and any other comfort food you request. I do not ever want you to feel like you are alone because ever since 2013 I have never felt alone, knowing you are always by my side whenever I need you.

Sincerely,

Your best friend (Angel)

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
