Anyone who knows me knows that 99 percent of the time if you text and ask what I'm up to I'm going to reply with either, "I'm heading to work," or, "Not much, just watching Netflix!" Because of this, I am confident that I can share with you my top five shows for you to watch on Netflix or Hulu and you will find your new obsession.
You're welcome in advance!
1. Friday Night Lights
This is a no brainer. We've got football, cute boys, drama, comedy, and Tim Riggins. You'll grow attached to the characters during the first episode and root for them for their remaining plot lines. You'll beg characters to stay, but you'll be proud they followed their dreams. Plus, Tim Riggins. He just deserves to be acknowledged a couple of times. #TexasForever
2.Quantico
This one is on Hulu and I promise you, you are going to want to binge watch the first season before season two comes out September 25 on abc. If you like action, drama, love triangles, a little deception (okay maybe a lot of deception), and someone being framed for a massive crime, this is your show! I have watched and re-watched this show more times than I can even admit. Every one of my friends hears me rave about this show, so much so that I have actually forced them to sit in front of my laptop and watch it. By the end of the first episode they are begging to watch more!
3. Parks and Recreation
First of all, if you have made it this far in life without watching Parks & Rec, my heart actually breaks for you. Leslie Knope: goals. Leslie Knope and Ann Perkins: BFF goals. This mockumentary will keep you laughing with it's dry humor and quick wit. You might even contemplate working for the Parks Department after you graduate because why not?? Please, stop what you are doing and binge on the awesomeness that comes from Pawnee, Indiana.
4. Young and Hungry
I will admit to you, when this show first came out I didn't want to watch it. I thought it would be pretty corny and overall just lame. Surprisingly enough I was wrong. While, yes, some of it can be cheesy, Emily Osment aka Gabby on the show, keeps me laughing! From getting way too close with her boss, Josh, to trying to figure out how to survive as a 20-something year old out in the world with her best friend. If that's not relatable to you college kids, well then, please share your magic secret with the rest of us. Until then, I'm going to watch Gabby make messes in her life and ignore the ones in mine!
5. Gilmore Girls
This. This show might be one of my all time favorites. I first became addicted to this show when I was in middle school and the obsession has not stopped. From Lorelei's quick talking and even quicker wit to Rory's love for books, everything about this show makes my heart happy. You will want to move to a small town in Connecticut, drink way too much coffee to be healthy, and quote obscure lines from every movie known to man after you finish this series. Bonus: Netflix is premiering brand new episodes of Gilmore Girls this fall! Binge watch now so you can watch the new four-part installment with the rest of us!
