Have you ever felt a desperate need for change? Maybe you're tired of the same old routine and need some spontaneity in your life. Or maybe things in your life are going so beautifully you need to do something bold to hold onto that moment of awe for a little bit longer. Either way, it's understandable I mean we can't stay in the same moment forever. So, if you've taken a step back and reflected on your life and feel like you need something to spice things up…

1. Cut your hair.

Whether you dye your hair, cut, or go even go bald, make a statement and make sure you walk out the door glowing with confidence. Everyone always leaves the salon or barber shop (unless they messed you up then I'm so sorry) feeling like a new person, and that alone can give you the change of pace you were looking for.

2. Plan an adventure.

Did someone say road trip? Drive to Key West. Book a flight to Europe. Go backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains. Go to the 911 Museum in New York City. If economically you cannot travel to a particular place, go somewhere that is far away enough to feel like a vacation but close enough that you have money left in your pocket afterward. As long as you go somewhere different, you will experience a new place with different food, music, culture, and people! Saint Augustine once said, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

3. Get a tattoo.

Getting a tattoo is probably the boldest kind of change and also the most permanent. I played the euphonium in marching and concert band all throughout high school, and music still plays a tremendous role in my life, so my tattoo is a bass clef, and a treble clef put together. Bass clef and treble clef are the two ways to read music so because I read bass clef, I had my tattoo artist shade the bass clef symbol darker, and to this day I am still incredibly in love with my tattoo. Tattoos have been frowned upon for as long as I can remember and that is something I will never understand. Nonetheless, if your tattoo holds value in your heart and it is not hindering your success in any way, I say go for it.

4. Go skydiving.

Tattoos are the most permanent, but skydiving is the most life-threatening. I have yet to cross "jumping out of a plane" off my bucket list, but I will one day soon. I can't imagine LITERALLY defying gravity. The wind in my face, my heart out of my chest, and feeling so big compared to the how small the world looks beneath me seems like an incomparable feeling. Macklin Harper, a sophomore at Broward College shares, "People consider skydiving to be for the thrill seekers or the adrenaline junkies. For me, it was a jump out of your comfort zone to do something out of my regular routine. It makes you feel amazing once you realize that you did that crazy thing you never thought you would do. It's feeling of proud excitement that you can't find many other ways."

5. Redecorate your room.

Channel your inner interior designer and give your room a makeover. Change the white walls to lavender. Move your bed to the other side of the room. Buy art to decorate the walls and string lights to hang from the roof. By the time you finish, it will feel like a completely different room even if realistically you're staying at the same four walls.

Imagine watching the same episode of Game of Thrones every day. Yeah, the first few times you'll pay close attention with your eyes glued to the television. But after the fourth time watching the episode, you will know precisely who dies next, and it will no longer be exciting. So, don't let your life be the same episode every day. Seek out change and embrace it.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
