People Of The Cross, You Have Been Drafted
Faith McCallion

People of the cross--you have been drafted.

We are His rising army--we are the ones that fearlessly look the devil in the eye and tell him to flee. We are the ones clothed in His power and authority and it's time we come out of hiding. He is our strength, He is our lover, and He is perfectly good. Rising army, we must become aware of this. We tell cancer to run, we tell anxiety to get out, and they bow their knees; the Resurrection is in our veins. Jesus.

Death could never hold us--its grip has been greased by the anointing of Jesus Himself walking through us and meeting the impossible without reservation. God is more excited about this than we are, and the state of the nation has written us a marvelous invitation that inhabits the same color as His blood. It's time to explode with praise!

Blood of Jesus, you have accomplished it.

Every encounter that is about to happen has been seen already by Him, but the challenge is remaining aware of Who we carry, and the miracles He is just aching to display as every moment of our days arise. The accuser (the devil) is also throwing a temper tantrum right now, and Christ's assignment within us has been to put him in his place. Adjust that little, unimpressive buggar. He and his tribe of clowns working to twist your arm are actually terrified of you.

Destroy the works of the devil, friends. Love people well. Worship. Sing, dance, speak His word out loud--in the shower, in the car, in your bedroom, in class, on the street, in the marketplace, wherever--He is everywhere and His dealings have no restriction. Run to the broken, take a risk and pray for that kid you see roll in that wheelchair in that science class for once. They need Him. WHO CARES WHAT THE WORLD THINKS. The fear of man has been dealt with, Jesus did not die by the mocking of men, but by the approval of the Father and His love for Him.

Same for you, bud. Don't let it hold you prisoner--you were bought in that you'd never be behind bars; living by the approval of man will do its best to never let you do damage to the devil.

Great news! He's approved of YOU. Tag, you're it. Fear of man can't hold you back anymore--sorry. It has been disarmed and you have no excuse. GOD IS IN YOU, and He's about to come out. The Lion of Judah is setting His feet for a leap into the riots and sorrows and His roar is going to shatter decades of brokenness, abuse, rejection, skepticism, perversion, bigotry, murder, lies, disappointments, division, racism, hatred, idolatry accusations, disorders, sickness and shame. His roar in you is going to be love, redemption, joy, peace, patience, hope, prophecy, grace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, miracles, dreams, visions, and ALL the gifts of the Spirit.

His roar is absolutely stunning in sound, and darkness blunders at even your THOUGHTS toward Him. The Spirit will carry your every world, if you simply invite Him to encounter His people. They're not just seeing you, they're meeting the Almighty God and lover of their souls. Stop thinking it's all on you--He's not a pressure God, He's a God of tenderness and intimacy.

He died for them as much as He died for you--loving us perfectly and uniquely; matchlessly adventurously. Hold onto the Lion, He's leading you right in. And, have a blast with Him. He's wild, wonderful, and will never let you down. He is God, and He is good--and it is a thrilling hour to be alive!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
