The National Championship: A Haiku
Emily Hiott

Now that Christmas and New Year's are over, it is time for the next best holiday...the National Championship. For the Clemson Tigers, this means a chance for vengeance in the crucial rematch against Alabama. Last year, the Tigers were so close to victory that they could almost taste it. On January 9th, we will be ready to take back what was so close in the last National Championship. After a thirty-six year championship drought, it will finally be raining in Tigertown.

The Tigers will win,

and lay our haters to rest.

Deshaun says night night.

For all of the people who said Clemson was not good enough or could not emerge as National Champions, will be proven wrong on Monday. Our offense is unstoppable and our defense is unbreakable. We are mad that Clemson keeps being underestimated, and we are ready to show the nation that we are number one. Under the coaching (and ultimate dad goals) of Dabo Swinney and the leadership of team captains, Deshaun Watson, Jay Guillermo, Jordan Leggett, Carlos Watkins, Ben Boulware, and Jadar Johnson, the Tigers will come out on top with finesse and class. This is our year. I have never been more proud to be a Clemson Tiger. Number four on the field, but number one in our hearts. Bring it home, boys!

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
