You are never to old to go to your grandparents' house!

Over The River And Through The Woods To Nana's House We Go

As a child, every little kid loves going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. You get to do what you want, eat what you want, all while making memories with your grandparents. When you are little, you never imagine you will outgrow going to your grandparents' house. For me, it is a different story. To this day, at age 19, I still go to my grandparents' house. No, it does not have to be a special occasion. For me, it is the joy of seeing them and catching up.

In the summer time, I go to my Nana and Popa’s house, and even though I am 19 years old, I still love to play on the tire swing and get spun around on the tree swing until I cannot see straight. I cannot imagine a summer without going to my grandparents' house. So many college kids take their grandparents for granted. I am proud of how close knit my family is. Every holiday is celebrated at my grandparents' house. My Nana’s cooking is the best, in my book. She never messes up one single meal. I feel like so many kids of my generation outgrow going to their grandparents' house.

Not only do we have loads of fun playing in the front yard, we also work with my grandparents' garden. In the summer time, we have corn to shuck and okra we have to cut and fry. Shucking corn is my favorite of the two. I love peeling back all the layers until you get to that beautiful corn that God has made. I have learned about many types of corn, and have conquered my fear of little corn worms. My Nana jokes with me and says that I act just like a city girl.

The years of going to my grandparents' house have taught me a lot. I love when my Popa has story time about when he was young, and how things use to be back in the day. All the people I never got to meet, and all the fun that was had before technology even existed. Sometimes I think to myself, “I wish I could go back to those days that they talk about.”

Honestly, writing this article has made me emotional because you do not know how long you will have with them. I believe that too many kids of the older generation think that they have all the time in the world with their grandparents -- until that day comes and they are no longer with us. Every day is precious with your family members. My message to everyone who has read this is don't let time pass by with your grandparents -- call them and tell them you love them. A simple phone call to your Nana or Popa will make their day. I love my, “Good morning and I love you,” text from my Nana every Sunday. The little things are what matter most in this life. So please tell your grandparent’s you love them, and that they mean the world to you. I know mine mean the world to me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
