My Top 5 Study Spots In Boston
We Heart It

Finding the perfect place to study can often be difficult. Living in Boston makes this search a little easier. I always try to get out and find new places to study and do homework so that I keep my college experience exciting. Getting off of your campus and out of your dorm room can open numerous doors for you and can allow many new relationships to come your way. The following are a few places for college students in the Boston area that are perfect for studying! (I encourage students who aren’t in Boston to do some research about some great study spots that are near their campus!)

1. Peet’s Coffee & Tea

Peet's Coffee & Tea is one of my favorite spots to stop for a fresh cup of coffee when I am shopping in Coolidge Corner. Before I stop by Brookline Booksmith to find amazing books for only $1, I make sure that I stop by Peet’s to get their coffee of the day (which is always delicious)! When it’s time to hit the books, Peet’s is the best place to do homework. There are plenty of places for patrons to sit and quiet spots for students to study. My favorite spot in this fantastic cafe is a long desk that is right next to the window which looks out onto the bustling Coolidge Corner streets. Peet's is open late and the staff who work there are always extremely kind whenever I visit!

2. Trident Bookstore and Cafe

Trident Bookstore and Cafe is a fantastic spot for any book worm to study among some of the best literature ever written. With old classics and new releases ready to be purchased by a book lover, Trident is the best spot to find a great read. It is also a great place to sit and study! It can be tricky to find a spot to sit some days because it is usually packed with people either getting food at the cafe, looking for their next great read, or purchasing their great finds. But if you figure out the best times to visit during the week, it is a very peaceful place to get some work done without being disturbed. Not to mention their coffee is to die for!

3. Boston Public Library

The Boston Public Library is by far the most beautiful place to study in Boston. Rich in history and knowledge, the Public Library is the perfect place for any student to spend a few hours reading a text for your history class or a classic novel for your English class. The lighting is calming and makes the huge library feel very homey. When it is warm outside, there is a beautiful garden that you can also study in. The patio surrounds a gorgeous fountain and is full of beautiful flowers and shrubs. There are just enough tables to ensure students who enjoy spending time outside have the chance to get work done in the fresh air without the space becoming overcrowded. It is a quiet escape from the busy city life.

4. Pavement Cafe

There are many Pavement Cafe locations throughout Boston. I love the location on Newbury Street. Inside of the cafe, the feeling is cozy and comfy. The lighting is perfect for studying long into the night. They have a wide selection of coffee and tea and yummy baked treats to suit everyone's late night cravings or afternoon pick-me-ups. In many locations, there are tables on the outdoor patio for students to bring their work outside and enjoy the sounds of Boston while writing a paper for a class.

5. Caffebene

Caffebene is a great little treasure that is down the street from Northeastern University. I love how warm and cozy the cafe feels. It has a rustic feel to it and is quite spacious for such a small space. Many people come to Caffebene to study, so you never really have to worry about the cafe being too loud. In addition to the calm and friendly atmosphere, the choices of caffeinated goodness are endless! Their cappuccinos are unlike any other and their regular coffee will warm your soul. Also, if you happen have a sweet tooth while working on endless math problems, you can take a study break and enjoy a delicious dessert. This is the perfect place to meet new people and get some serious work done outside of your dorm room!

My best advice for new students, and even current college students, is to get out and enjoy where you go to school. You must venture outside of your dorm room every once in a while to see the true beauty of your surroundings. Do some research about local cafes, bookstores, and even a great library that may only be a short walk from your campus. Enjoy every second of college. I can’t believe how fast my first year of college has flown by!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
