Are you and your partner stumped about anywhere else besides the beach you could possibly go to have a romantic evening? Or maybe you both go to college in Los Angeles, but you're not from there, so you have no idea what the best date spots are? Have no fear, friends, for today an LA local will share her opinion on her top 10 places she'd love to have a date. There are so many places to go with a great variety of experiences (and a great variety of prices or lack thereof). Find which one best fits your need and go for it!
1. Santa Monica Pier
Okay, I know this is slightly cheating as this is the beach, but Santa Monica is probably the best pier for romantic adventuring. From the beautiful beach property to the fun amusement park (with a Ferris wheel) to the restaurants and street (pier?) performers, Santa Monica is a fantastic spot for a date. I also hear it is quite the Pokémon Go hunting ground nowadays.
2. The Getty Museum
This is a fairly popular date spot, located right outside of Bel Air. The museum itself is amazing, as well as the view of Los Angeles from the hill it sits on top of. It is gorgeous in the evening with a sunset, and the gardens are a must-see. Entry to the museum itself is free, but there is a small parking fee. Go be artsy for a night, and take pictures with the view!
3. The Galleria
Located right at the crossings of the 405 and the 101 freeways, this open mall is a good spot for an evening date. There are a variety of restaurants, as well as the Arclight Theater. As a perfect end to a movie date is the Ben and Jerry's, located about halfway down the mall. (Also a good Pokémon Go location if that's relevant to the date, or if it's looking to be avoided.)
4. The Griffith Observatory
This another great place for a birds-eye view of Los Angeles, and a great museum to boot. Located in beautiful Griffith Park, the observatory is a worthwhile trip for a date.
5. Hiking Red Rock Canyon
If hiking is your thing, Red Rock Canyon in Topanga is a great place to do it. I've personally walked part of the trail, and it is great for any level hiker (as I was a remedial hiker to be entirely honest). In addition, there are some neat caves you can explore in and a river to take a pit stop next to. Take lots of pictures!!
Bonus: Disneyland!
I realize this is an incredibly expensive date, but SO worth it if you can afford it. I don't think I need to elaborate - it's DISNEY, guys. Pictures in front of the castle, amiright??
I hope this list helps you out in finding a date for any kind of occasion. Remember to take pictures to make the moment last forever!
