My Skin Care Routine 2017

My skin is combo skin, some days it's really dry and others it's really oily. It all depend on the weather or what products I'm using. I've struggled with hormonal acne for most of my teenage years, I was blessed with only have a small breakout. But those small breakouts still left a lot of scarring. I really got serious about my skin care once I got into to college. I started to watch videos on other peoples affordable suggestions and tested things out until I found what works. I go back and forth on many products depending on the seasons or how my skin is reacting. But the products I'm going to show today are some of my holy grails and also some that I'm trying out and loving.

1. Cera Ve Foaming Facial Cleanser + USpicy face brush

I've gone back and forth on using this cleanser and not using it for years. I love it during the winter times because it gets my face clean but doesn't over dry it. Yet once it comes to summer and I sweat a lot more I usually use it less often just being a need a more acne preventing product. The USpicy brush is similar to the Olay face brush except $20 cheaper. I bought because I didn't know if I would like using a face brush so I didn't want the $40-50 price commitment. So when I found this cheaper option on Amazon I was sold. I have been using it for almost a year and I love it. It really gives you a great clean and helps the cleanser to really foam up on my face. One downside is the inside somehow got wet and now the controls are a bit messed up and it won't run anymore. But it wasn't that expensive so I'll probably just buy a new one.

2. Coconut Oil

If you don't use this to take off your makeup then how do you do it? I used to spend so much money on makeup wipes, but honestly, I would have to use about 5 of them to get everything off. I usually buy the cheapest tub of coconut oil and it lasts me for months. It also melts off every inch of my makeup. You can also use it to rinse your mouth out, use as a hair mask, honestly it's amazing.

3. St. Ives Timeless Skin

I've been trying this product out for about a month now, I found it on amazon as a cheaper alternative for an anti-aging moisturizer. I can honestly say it is awesome, I haven't broken out because of it. It keeps my skin hydrated and I can see a difference in how firm my skin is.

4. Aztec Secret Clay mask + Food Grade Active Charcoal

Mixing these two products with apple cider vinegar make for an amazing mask. I use this mask once a week to clear up all the dirt left on my skin from a long week. It also makes me feel like I'm at the spa on a Friday night in my pajamas. I also use the active charcoal to whiten my teeth which have honestly made such a difference in my smile.

5. Hell Pore Mask

This is a raved about the product all over the internet and I finally gave in a bought a bottle. I've only used it a handful of times but each time I've loved it. It leaves my face feeling so soft and clean. I use this product maybe once a week depending on how my skin is that week.

That's my skin care routine daily and weekly. People always ask me how I keep my skin so clear and it's not only washing my face every night and morning but not w earing makeup every day. Also the use of masks on a weekly basis. If you're looking for product recommendations and have combination skin. I would for sure suggest giving these a try.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
