My older sister has been there for me since day one, and I have no idea where I would be without her. It is impossible to list all of the things she is to me, but I will try to give you a few. Maybe you can see some of the things your sister is for you too! If there is something that your sister does for you, that isn’t on the list, comment below!

1. She is my... Editor

This is probably my first written document ever that I have not had her look at first. Since the first thing I had to write for school, I immediately asked her to take a look.

2. She is my...Teacher

Of course she is the smarter one, so she knows everything. She helped me out in school and life, all the time with lessons and still does today.

3. She is my... Mom

I was the best baby doll she ever had. Feeding me, clothing me and watching me are things she always wanted to do. When I fell down, she was right there to pick me up.

4. She is my... Pillow

We all fall asleep when we shouldn’t, right? Those long car rides, long church services or boring family gatherings? Who else would I have to lay my head on?

5. She is my... Punching Bag

OK not anymore, I promise. There were quite a few times when a bit of a tussle started, and there is no one I would rather have duked it out with than her.

6. She is my... Best Friend

What can I say? Spending everyday and night with her, how could we not be best friends? I can’t imagine life without her.

7. She is my... Psychologist

You know when you have those deep, unanswerable questions, and only your sister has the right answer? Thanks for always understanding my super weird ideas and thoughts.

8. She is my... Coach

Since she was older, she always knew the sport better than I did, and could not wait to help me learn it too.

9. She is my... Bedtime Story Teller

Her creativity was amazing. Whether it was from a book, and she changed the voices, or just about her daydreams, she always put me right to sleep.

10. She is my... Radio

I don't remember a time when she was not singing along to a song, or making up her own. It was a constant flood of music in my house, usually coming from her.

11. She is my... Worst Enemy

Okay, all siblings fight sometime. I’ll admit, there were many times when the hatred was quite real, and I would have done anything to get away from you. But we got over that, I promise!

12. She is my... Style Critic

There was never a time when you did not have an opinion on my outfit, or what I should change about it. I remember quite a few times when you would not let me leave the house because you did not approve of what I was wearing.

13. She is my... Hairstylist

We all know I am the true hairstylist, but before me, it was you! Thanks for also being the model for my hair styles, and letting me experiment with your hair!

14. She is my... Makeup Artist

Hahahaha I laugh just thinking about it, but let’s remember the first time you tried to do my makeup, and I ended up looking like a clown, and having a beard of blush and purple lipstick eyebrows. Mom was so scared when she got home.

15. She is my...Twin (supposedly)

Every vacation, without fail, we are still asked if we are twins. I guess those three years in between really weren’t enough.

16. She is my... Dress-up Doll

There was nothing I loved more than playing dress up when we were little, and my favorite part was putting outfits on you! Those goth looks, or princess ball gowns never had a better model.

17. She is my... Most Valuable Possession

You were always something I could brag about to my friends. There were actually times people thought I was obsessed with you because I would not stop talking about all of the cool things you had done.

18. She is my... Ally

Nothing made me happier than when you would take my side in an argument! It was rare, but it would always make it a more even fight!

19. She is my... Shield

Snowball fights and nerf wars were never my thing, but you were always there, on my team, ready to protect and shield me from the enemy.

20. She is my... Leader

Since I was born, I have been your follower. Everything you did, I had to try too. All of your favorite hobbies became my (attempted) hobbies too!

21. She is my... Secret Keeper

I knew that I could always trust you with a secret. It was normally when I took candy that I wasn’t supposed to have, but I knew that I could always trust you not to tell on me.

22. She is my... Coworker

Thanks so much for finding me that first job. I don’t regret for a minute the many, many times the kids would call me by your name, or get us confused. It was so much fun working with you, and those drives to and from work are unforgettable.

23. She is my... Hand-me-downer

I would have no clothes, no room, and no furniture if it wasn’t for you. Although the clothes didn't always fit, and the furniture usually clashed, there was never a time I wanted to turn it down.

24. She is my... Cook (attempted)

I’ll give it to you, you tried many times, and sometimes succeeded. I was always honest though, so some of those meals were actually pretty good.

25. She is my... Driver

Oh boy! The number of rides you have given me is actually uncountable. Also, thanks so much for the jeep! I still love it very much!

26. She is my... Advisor

Whenever I am unsure, or worried about something, I know that I can always go to you for help, or ask your opinion without a problem.

27. She is my... Always Better

There has never been a thing in my life where either I or someone else has not compared the two of us. Running, school grades, ACT scores, colleges applied to, sports participated in, food we eat. Also, never once have I been better...maybe someday I’ll be on top!

28. She is my... Partner

No duet partner, or dance partner could have been better. I think we could still dance to "Don’t Stop Believing" flawlessly, or sing all through "High School Musical" without one missed note throughout.

29. She is my... Bed Buddy

I love sharing a bed with you in hotel rooms, or camping, even if you do roll onto my side all of the time, and talk in your sleep. I still remember the first night you came home from college, and crawled into bed with me, even though I had school the next day. We both fell asleep, and woke up in the morning, still holding hands.

30. She is my... Chocolate Sharer

I know that you are the only person in the world who likes chocolate just as much as I do, and if I can’t ever finish the whole bar by myself, you are the one I would share it with!

31. She is my... Role Model

There has never been someone I looked up to more. Everything you have accomplished does nothing but inspire me everyday.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from.
