My Odyssey Swan Song

Just wanted to say thank you for the opportunity, Odyssey.

For over a year now, I've had the opportunity to write articles on any topics I was passionate about, including anime, music and positivity. I'm so grateful that the Odyssey came to Wingate during my senior year. It presented me with an opportunity to flex my writing muscles every week and to learn a new style of writing. But unfortunately, like with everything else in life, my season of writing on this platform has come to an end. Before I go, though, I just wanted to say thank you, Odyssey.

Thank you for giving milennials like me a voice. Thank you for creating this platform that we can use to share our thoughts and beliefs with those willing to click the link. Thanks for the incentives and for not limiting our topic choices. Thanks for the countless hours you put in to make sure this platform remains relevant and engaging. And thank you for not closing up shop anytime soon.

I've learned a lot about blogging and creating interesting content by writing on here. It's come in handy when writing articles for my personal blog. However, it's also taught me that relevant, not necessarily personal, topics gain more views.

In spite of that, though, I've learned to both capitalize on that while staying true to myself. I've discovered that you can take satisfaction in just writing the article itself. Page views and number of shares don't define your worth or skill as an article writer. That's the beauty of getting to write about whatever you want. It highlights the fact that your thoughts and feelings matter and that as long as you're sharing them, there will be someone willing to listen (or read them, in this case).

To other Odyssey writers, I wish you all the best. Keeping putting out great content and look for ways to make your next article even better than the last one.

To everyone who's read my articles week after week: thank you so much. It means so much to me that you enjoy my work and support my content through likes and shares.

And to the Odyssey, please never shut down this platform. It means a lot to us writers. Thanks again for the opportunity.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
