I have so much to thank my momma for. She has supported me through everything in my life. Through the ungrateful teen years to my rebellious and major-changing college years. My mom continues to stand by my side and offer me guidance. She has loved me unconditionally along the way and made sure that I always knew that. But, the thing that I am most thankful that my mom gave me is God. If it was not for her continuous grace and love, I am honestly not sure where I would be today. God shines through my mother, and I can see it when she is caring for me. It was my mom that really pushed me to accept God in my life. I was in a really rough patch in my life. For a few months, I was depressed and not in a good state, mentally. I shut myself off from my friends, school, everyone—even my mom. I knew it was hurting her, but I just could not pull myself out of this hole I had fell in. It was not until one Sunday morning at church that I finally caught some air. I remember we were singing after the invitation, and my mom went up to steps to pray. After she came back, I saw that she was crying, and I knew part of it was me. She was scared for me, and my pushing her away was breaking her heart. When I saw her crying, something inside of me snapped. I started to become very choked up and I was vulnerable. Seeing my mom like that was enough for me to let my guard down long enough for God to really enter my heart. From that Sunday morning forward, it was the road to recovery. I started to become me again, and I was growing in Christ. All of the areas in my life started to regain their positivity, and I can say that I was happy again. God was healing me in ways that no one else could. I thank Him every day for blessing me with such a wonderful mother. Because if it was not for her never giving up on me, I do not know where I would be. This one is for you mom. I love you long time.
