“Humans, not places, make memories..”

  • It’s crazy to think that so many people want to see the world and travel, but the real memories are the ones with people involved. No matter where you go far or close, the people you encounter are going to make or break your experience there. The places are beautiful, but human souls make it even more memorable.

“It is easy to love people in memory; the hard thing is to love them when they are there in front of you..”

  • Sometimes in life we take people for granted like they are never going to leave us, but sometimes things happen that they do leave us. The good memories are always the ones that remain present in your heart. You cherish them more in these memories than when they were actually there with you which is why we have to appreciate people more when present in our lives.

“Never be afraid to sit awhile and think…”

  • Life goes by so fast while you’re busy, but that sure doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think about it once in awhile. It’s nice to sit down with friends or family and think about where you are in life. You could also reminisce memories of old fun times that always bring a smile to your face.

“Do for yourself, for no one else…”

  • Honestly, we are alone in this world so might as well do everything for yourself. If you want something so bad, but your friends or family don’t agree just do it anyways. It’s your life, your choices, might as well make yourself happy.

“It may be unfair, but what happens in a few days, sometimes even a single day, can change the course of a whole lifetime…”

  • All you need is one day to change your life around. So many unexpected things happen in life that you never expected and those are the ones that change your life the most. When you don’t know what’s coming, then you’ll never know how to prepare for it which is why it changes you so much.

“Children learn more from what you are than what you teach..”

  • I cannot emphasize this enough, children will always see what you do and ignore what you tell them to do. As another popular quote states “Actions speak louder than words”, words just go in and out your ear, but actions define everything. Be careful what you do around children because it will catch on.

“Chance is the first step you take, luck is what comes afterward..”

  • In life, if you’re not willing to take chances on things you won’t get very far. That first step can be very difficult to take sometimes, but if you are rewarded in the end then it’s all worth it. The chance could be asking someone out, making friends, going for that competitive job, or whatever it may be. Just remember, if you never try, you’ll never know.

“I am not interested in being original. I am interested in being true..”

  • Everyone is different in this world whether it’s skin color, eye color, personality, humor, likes and dislikes, but does that necessary make the person. There are too many fake people in this world, that’s why it’s more important to find someone who is real with you than someone is trying to hard to stand out. Realness is always appreciated.

“Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch..”

  • During our lives, we meet so many people who have touched us in some way or have just passed by along our paths. People will come and go in our lives. Some of them leave an imprint in our souls that will change us forever and we may leave one on theirs as well. As life goes on, that print stays with us as a reminder of what has happened in our lives.

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any..”

  • This quote hit me hard because it’s so true. You have all the power you want until you let it go. It could be something like voting, if you don’t think your vote matters then you’ve basically given up your privilege that many people wish to have. Once you tell yourself you are powerless, you become powerless. Stay strong and don’t let someone take your power away.

“I am beginning to learn that it is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all..”

  • Many people tend to make a big deal about having luxurious cars, big houses, lots of money and other materialistic things. In the end, those things won’t matter because you’re not going to remember that. You’re going to remember those little moments that you spent with loved ones or friends. Materialistic things just come and go, but memories last a lifetime.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
