Even though I only have a month of summer left, there are still a ton of things I want to do. This past year, I have gained a new desire to be adventurous and live each day like it is my last. You never know what tomorrow will bring and I think it is SO important to take advantage of the opportunities around us. I am a born and raised L.A. girl, but I feel like I have not seen my city from a tourist perspective. This next month I am going to try and complete all of these fun activities on my Los Angeles Summer Bucket List!
1. Hike to the Hollywood Sign (Hollywood, California).
Hiking to the Hollywood Sign is actually really easy to do! There are a ton of routes that range from easy hikes to more advanced climbing. I have heard that the view from the top makes the whole hike worthwhile.
2. Climb to the top of Point Dume (Malibu, California).
First off, it's Malibu, aka the most beautiful place in California. Second of all, the view from the top of the cliff allows you to see far out into the ocean and really soak up the sun (cue "Soak Up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow).
3. Walk Avenue of Stars (Century City, California).
Walking Avenue of the Stars is something I have to do this summer. Not only do you get to see all of the celebrity's stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but there are also great malls, restaurants and tourist spots. One tourist spot I want to check out is the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum which includes wax figures of Beyonce, the Royal Family, Ed Sheeran and many other famous celebs.
4. Take the Warner Brother's Studio Tour (Burbank, California).
While I am sure all the sets on this studio tour are very cool, I am dying to see the "Friends" set. The tour itself is not too expensive considering all of the different sets you get to see! And don't worry, I've already got my Instagram picture all planned out of me sipping coffee in Central Perk.
5. Go To the Griffith Observatory (Los Angeles).
The Griffith Observatory has a ton of cool exhibits for people to check out! The view is also supposedly incredible.
6. Eat at Abbot Kinney First Friday's Food Festival (Venice Beach, California).
7. Shop at the Fairfax Flea Market (Beverly Hills).
Coachella may be nine months away, but it is never too early to get high-wasted shorts! The Fairfax Flea Market is known for having EVERYTHING. From jewelry to vintage tees to trendy two-pieces from Purrr, you are always in for a bargain.
8. Attend Twilight Concerts at the Pier (Santa Monica, CA).
I am yet to attend a Twilight Concert at the Pier! This is known for being a fairly cheap night picnicking with friends while listening to live music. You can also go on all the rides and walk down to the beach to watch the sunset.
9. Take Artsy Pictures in the Rain Room At LACMA (Los Angeles).
While I have heard that this experience is a little overrated, I definitely still want to try it. The LACMA Museum is so beautiful and I would really like to see all of the exhibits this summer!
10. Ride the Skyspace Slide (Los Angeles).
Last, but certainly not least, I HAVE to ride in the Skyspace Slide! I mean, who doesn't want to go down a clear slide that allows you to see all of Los Angeles!? I am calling this number one on my L.A. Summer Bucket List!
