My Identities

The things I consider my own identity.

What I consider myself as is what makes me. This is based on how I was raised, my interests, and how I was influenced.

Religious views: Christian- Assemblies of God

I was raised in an Assemblies of God church and still attend one. I got saved at around age 11 and got baptized at age 23 and will almost be the one year anniversary of my baptism. This means I believe, follow, and trust God at all times (faith). By joining Campus Bible Fellowship during my last three semesters of college, I have leaned more to the baptist denomination of Christianity.

Political views: Moderate- Independent

Although I am registered as a Republican, I consider myself an Independent due to agreeing with some Democrat views and agreeing with some Republican views. I pretty much select a candidate based on whether I agree with his or her views on issues along with plans and policies. Since the 2016 election I was leaning towards the Independent view of politics and there right now. Also I tend to flip flop on some issues and don't really have a preference on which party to join since I believe in both social/community responsibility and individual rights/justice.

Cat lover

I've been a fan of cats since I was 12. I like cats better than dogs because they're easy to take care of and are not as much of a responsibility as dogs. They are also cute especially when they purr and I consider them to be the most loving animals out there.

History guy

I've always loved history because I find it so interesting on how humanity shapes our society throughout the future years. I am a Binghamton University graduate with a BA in history (graduated December 2016). My common interests in history are 20th Century American History and 20th Century European History.

Music Lover

I've been a fan of music since I was a teenager. It helps me relax and keep me going throughout the day. My favorite genres are pop, alternative rock, hip-hop (old school, underground, and conscious), R&B, and country but like pretty much everything except modern day heavy metal.

Burger Guy

Burgers are my favorite food. Every time I go to a restaurant, I often order a burger with fries on the side. I like burgers because of the taste and you can put whatever you want on it and I usually put ketchup, mustard, and sometimes onion and pickles.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
