To My High School Friends

Going separate ways was difficult at first. One minute, you're in in high school with your friends, being so close, and then you blink and it's time to separate. Now, the days go on and it gets easier and easier with everyone drifting apart. You would say some of them don't even talk now. Or not as much, anyway. But that's what happens. Your friends have all started a new chapter in their lives, and it's hard for you all to keep in touch, which is understandable.

Sometimes you think about all the fun times you had in high school. You will admit, high school was some of the best years of your life. Don't kid yourself; college has been amazing and you've meet great friends, but nothing beats growing up with the same friends for years.

To my high school friends, thanks for all the great memories.

To my high school friends, thanks for being awkward with me.

To my high school friends, thanks for always telling me when I had a bad hair day.

To my high school friends, thanks for getting wild with me at the farm.

To my high school friends, thanks for growing up with me.

To my high school friends, thanks for helping me with homework.

To my high school friends, thanks for taking on every Friday night football game with me.

To my high school friends, thanks for being the BAD girls with me.

To my high school friends, thanks for walking down the halls with me, thinking we were too cool.

To my high school friends, thanks for everything you ever did for me that I didn't appreciate then.

To my high school friends, thanks for dropping your tray in the lunch room so everyone would clap for you.

To my high school friends, thanks for taking on prom with me.

To my high school friends, sorry we don't talk much now.

To my high school friends, thanks for getting in trouble with me.

To my high school friends, thanks for dressing up with me for Homecoming week.

To my high school friends, thanks for always being down for back roads.

To my high school friends, thanks for running down the hall with me before lunch, trying not to get caught.

To my high school friends, thanks for standing by my side while we graduated.

To my high school friends, thanks for the best years of living wild and free.

To my high school friends, until we meet again.

To my high school friends, you will always hold a special place in my heart.

A friend will be a friend in times of all kinds. Proverbs 17:17

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
