My First Theater Performance

Preparing For Upcoming Performances

My First Theater Performance

My Upcoming Performance

Ever since I came to Hanover, I had opened up and signed up to participate in the theater productions by taking the role of ASM, or Assistant Stage Manager. I was the ASM for Endgame, our first performance of the school year, back in late September and early October. For the upcoming production, As You Like It by William Shakespeare, I started out as ASM, but recently I volunteered to take two small roles for the production.

Now I am going to live out one of my dreams, to try acting on a stage in front of a live audience. I am so excited to be able to perform with the actors and actresses on the show. I am getting comfortable with the theatre people and I enjoy it a lot. I came to Hanover, hoping my shyness will go away. I hope acting will help with that shyness. So far, I have come out of my shell and allow myself to be comfortable around the people I've been seeing every night at rehearsals.

Not to mention, this will be my very first performance in front of an audience. I am not nervous, but rather excited. I have the opportunity to improve my acting skills while getting the experience of being in a play. It took some doing memorizing lines and getting the scenes down, but I am ready to go on stage and perform for the first time.

I am proud of myself for taking up the roles and memorizing my lines. I am proud for stepping up to the plate to help with plays. I am proud for coming out of my shell to be myself. I love the theatre work and I look forward to doing more with the Theatre Club, the directors, actors, and stage and booth crew. I look forward to help out with more plays and hopefully play several roles for the upcoming performances.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
