My whole life, my feeling and emotions have been extremely affected by the type of music I listened to. My dad was in a rock band when I was younger and I think that is why music has been important to me. When I first started going to church, the way I felt the closest to God was through worship. So, here are a few of my favorite worship songs.
"Good Good Father" by Chris Tomlin
Every time I hear this song I think about how God is our father. Even if you have had a bad experience with your own flesh father he is the one who will love us no matter what we do. Its who we are.
"Fierce" by Jesus Culture
You really can't go wrong with any of the songs Jesus Culture composes, they are amazing worshipers. This particular song talks about Gods love and how powerful it can be.
"Constant One" by Steffany Gretzinger
This song is an amazing song, its a song devoted to God and it explains just who he is and how he and his love is endless. I listen to Steffany Gretzinger every Sunday before church, her album "The Undoing" is amazing.
"Holy Spirit" by Francesca Battistelli
I know that this song is starting to be over played but it really is a great song to just open up to and literally let the holy spirit in.
"Days Of Elijah" by Donnie McClurkin
This song as my best friend puts it "gets you hype." Its an older song but is still relevant. You can actually learn a lot from this song. Plus there are moves, who doesn't like moves?
"You Make Me Brave" by Bethel Music
I absolutely love this song because every time I listen to it I literally picture his love crashing over me. It makes me want to lift my hands and sing as loud as I can. I prefer the live version because you can feel the power of the song.
"How He Loves Us" by David Crowder Band
This song is a song that most people have heard, there isn't much that I can say about this because you can probably figure it out just by looking at the tittle. This a slower song that you can just sway to and listen to the words.
"Oceans" by Hillsong United
I know that this song has gains a new representation of being a basic song that everyone has heard but it truly is an amazing song. It puts the story of Peter and makes it relatable to us.
There are so many worship songs, these are just the ones that I could think of off the top of my head. Like I said earlier, music means a lot to me and has made an huge impact on my relationship with God. Its something about being able to listen to the words and lift my hands to try and reach out. It makes me feel like I can just reach out and hug him.
