From my personal experience, sisters have a special bond. Although we fight 90% of the time, I would never trade you for the world. You are the biggest blessing in my life, sis.
I remember being 4 years old, constantly telling mom and dad how I really want a little sister. I never wanted a brother, only a sister. I would constantly beg and plead. Even though I had cousins I still needed someone around 24/7 to play Barbies with me. When I was told I was going to be a big sister, I was ecstatic. I had no idea how to contain my excitement.
I remember waking up one morning and our aunt was sitting next to me on the couch. Of course I was so confused, but she right away told me that my sister was coming and daddy had to take mommy to the hospital! I jumped up and asked her to take me, because my sister was finally here!
In these past 16 years, we have learned that God has made us two completely different people. Even though we are total polar opposites, I am forever grateful for the gift that I was given. There are a few things I want you to know;
1. I always want what is best for you;
No matter how much we argue and tell each other, "I hate you", I always rooting for you. You deserve the world and more, watching you grow is such a blessing to me.
2. I will always have your back.
I am the only person who is allowed to be mean to you. Any time you come to me and tell me that someone was mean or anything like that, it kills me. I will always, stand up for you and always be there defending you no matter the situation.
3. I am so proud of you.
Even though you are the little sister, you make me so proud. I look up to the things you accomplish. You have grown into such a beautiful independent woman. You are going to go far in life, and I can not wait to see it all happen.
4. You are my best friend.
I am one of the luckiest people out there because my best friend is my sister. I can tell you I hate you all day long, but at the end of the day; you will always be my best friend. "Having a sister is like having a permanent, best friend."
5. I love you, the most.
I can promise you, that the love I have for you is real. I defintely love you more than I hate you.
Mel, you are my biggest blessing. You are the build in best friend my 5 year old self has always asked for. Thank you for being down to play barbies and dress up when we were little. Thank you for now being down to take a drive to get ice cream or just to walk around Wal-Mart. Thank you for the endless laughs and smiles, (even the cries). Over the past years, you and I have grown closer (with a little bit of hate), but I would never trade it for the world. Also, thank you for being the best little sister ever. I love you.
