Ah, the world of the YouTube. Where you can look at countless videos of cats, cooking tutorials, and DIYs/life hacks for almost anything imaginable. But, what would YouTube be without the many individuals who post daily vlogs, makeup tutorials, or crazy challenges? Whether you are a YouTube junkie (like myself), occasionally watch a video here and there, or are brand new to the site and are ready to delve into the world of YouTube, here are my personal 10 favorite YouTubers who are always reliable to give me a laugh of the day.

10. Ricky Dillon

Ricky Dillon is a 24-year-old YouTuber originally from Alabama with over 4 million subscribers between his two channels. Also a former member of the band, O2L (Our2ndLife), each of his videos gain millions of views and he recently published his book, "Follow Me: A Memoir in Challenges". His videos are very light-hearted, hilarious, and full of endless collaborations with other YouTube stars.


9. Oli White

Oli White is a 22-year-old YouTuber from England with over 4 million subscribers between his vlogging, gaming, and self-titled channels. Oli is well known for his books, "Generation Next" and "Generation Next: The Takeover" set to debut this April. His vlogs and latest internet challenges are also extremely popular, especially ones with his younger brother, James. His love to entertain and care for others is very prevalent in his videos, meaning that they will always turn your frown upside down!

8. Connor Franta

Connor Franta is a 24-year-old YouTuber originally from Wisconsin with over 5 million subscribers. Connor first came into the spotlight by also being a member of the band, O2L (Our2ndLife). He has published two books, "A Work in Progress", which came out in 2015 and has his new book, "Note to Self", set to come out in April of this year. His relatable videos come from his perspective of growing up in a conservative small town with his struggles to accept and love himself for who he is, where he later comes out as gay. Along with his videos that many viewers can relate to, his contagious smile and laugh are always positive and energetic!

7. Colleen Ballinger

Colleen Ballinger is a 30-year-old YouTuber originally from California who is best known for her portrayal of her original character, Miranda Sings. She has gained over 12 million subscribers between her personal, vlogging, and Miranda Sings channels. Colleen's most viewed videos come from her character, Miranda Sings, with her signature bright red lipstick and unique voice and book, "Selp-Helf". Her videos make sure that all of her viewers laugh, from her Miranda channel to her personal vlogging channel, along with the countless videos with her adorable and fluffy cat, GusGus.

6. Good Mythical Morning

Good Mythical Morning is a talk show styled YouTube channel formed by Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal that was originally formed in 2001 and have racked up over 13 million subscribers between their two GMM channels. Rhett and Link have captured the hearts of their viewers with their sarcastic humor, crazy taste tests, and love for making their viewers laugh their hearts out.

5. Tyler Oakley

Tyler Oakley is a 27-year-old YouTuber originally from Mississippi with over 8 million subscribers. Tyler's inspirational videos and contagious laughter and smile just cannot be beaten. His continued fight for equal rights for LGBTQ community members is a huge part of his life and his journey through accepting himself is talked about in his book, "Binge" which was published in 2015. Along with his loveable personality, the several crazy hair colors he has had make him a favorite among the YouTube community!

4. SimplyNailogical

Cristine Rotenberg, better known for her YouTube channel SimplyNailogical, is a 28-year-old Canadian YouTuber with over 4 million subscribers between her two channels. Cristine is well known for making nail tutorial videos as well as spoofs with her boyfriend Ben and their two cats, Menchie and Zyler. Her corny jokes and love for all things holographic (a wonderful array of changing colors that look rainbow/iridescent), even giving the name of #Holosexuals to her fan base. Her impressive nail tutorials along with her humor make her one of the fastest growing YouTubers.

3. The Gabbie Show

Gabbie Hanna (The Gabbie Show) is a 25-year-old YouTuber originally from Pennsylvania with over 4 million subscribers between her two channels. Gaining the majority of her popularity from her laugh out loud Vine channel, she has grown into one of the most popular YouTubers, with her relatable life stories and a crazy and unbelievable array of story time videos. Her love for her fans and the growth she has gained for loving herself no matter what others say makes her one of the most inspirational YouTubers out there.

2. Joey Graceffa

Joey Graceffa is a 25-year-old YouTuber originally from Massachusetts with close to 10 million subscribers between his daily and gaming channels. Joey first began making videos at an early age and began his first YouTube channel, WinterSpringPro, with his best friend Brittany, where his acting and entertaining career took off. He now has a personal channel and a gaming channel where he captures the hearts of his fans across the world with his relatable stories and adventures with his two huskies, Storm and Wolf, and his boyfriend, Daniel. He has written two books, the first being an autobiography titled, "In Real Life: My Journey to a Pixelated World," and recently published his first fantasy/young adult novel, "Children of Eden." His love for being true to his fans is prevalent by being open about growing up with an alcoholic parent and coming out with his hit single, "Don't Wait," in 2015 where he came out as being gay. His authenticity and love for those around him always make his videos a joy to watch!

1. Shane Dawson

Shane Dawson is a 28-year-old YouTuber originally from California with over 16 million subscribers between his two channels started in 2008. Shane's videos are full of outrageous humor, various skits, and challenges that always leave me laughing until I cry. He has written two books, "I Hate Myselfie," and "It Gets Worse," along with several movies and hit songs. His struggles with body confidence and body dysmorphia after losing quite a bit of weight in his teens/early twenties makes him an inspiration to others to love yourself and your body and that it is okay to be unique in your own way possible. His long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Lisa Schwartz, came to an end in the summer of 2015 when he came out as bisexual in an emotional video. He currently lives with his boyfriend Ryland and their adorable dog, Uno and creates daily videos featuring crazy food, relatable videos, and daily vlogs. Shane is my favorite YouTuber and never fails to make me laugh when I'm having a bad day or procrastinating my homework; he makes his fans feel loved and cared about, which is all that matters. I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
