There are great films that come out every year, and between "The Avengers," "Star Wars," and "Mad Max," 2015 had it's fair share of amazing movies -- but 2016 is lined up to be even better. With all of the highly anticipated films set to be released this year, and the ones that already have been, ("Deadpool," "Zootopia," "The Witch") there is still a lot more coming this year! Here are the movies that you have see in 2016.
1. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice"
Even though each preview gives away more of the story, this film looks amazing, and DC will look to reclaim their position as a major player in the comic book film industry with this.
2. "Captain America: Civil War"
The MCU can do no wrong, and their decision to adapt the Civil War storyline that captivated the entire comic book world a decade ago will do nothing but bolster their claim as the top dog in comic films. Spider-Man's costume looks stupid though, and I don't know if I'll be able to get over that. Only time will tell.
3. "X-Men: Apocalypse"
Building off of their success with "Days of Future Past," Fox looks to continue their hot streak with what will be one of the most successful films of the summer.
4. "Doctor Strange"
Marvel has made some really weird movies throughout the years but still managed to find success. "Guardians of the Galaxy" made sense, but "Ant-Man" came out of nowhere, and despite this, they still did really well; and while "Doctor Strange" isn't universally known, expect this film to sell -- if not for any other reason than it's Marvel.
5. "Suicide Squad"
This is a crazy concept, it works in the comics because there are so many universes within DC and they can get away with things like this. How they plan to work "Suicide Squad" into their new, growing cinematic universe should be interesting to see. This film looks really good, but until I see it, I will be more skeptical than I was of "Ant-Man."
6. "Finding Dory"
All I have to say is finally!
7. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"
Is there such a thing as too much "Star Wars?" Look, seven films in 38 years, and really only four or five good ones; "Star Wars" could use some over saturation. With no George Lucas, but rather Kathleen Kennedy at the helm, I'm really excited to see where they go with the main story, but having these side films will do nothing but help. While it's obvious that what everyone really wants is the Boba Fett and Han Solo origin stories, Lucasfilm and Disney are wise to start with "Rogue One" (don't play your best cards first and keep the people coming back). They know what they're doing.
8. "Star Trek Beyond"
JJ may no longer be filming, but at least he is still producing. That and, like "Star Wars," can there really be too much "Star Trek?" The answer is no.
9. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"
" Harry Potter" spinoff, written by Rowling herself and filmed by David Yates, (who also directed HP's 5-8, the best ones). This is sure to be great, but once they announced Eddie Redmayne as the star, they guaranteed themselves a hit.
10. "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising"
Despite the negative stigma that the first "Neighbors" gave off for Greeks, I can't help but admit that it was hilarious -- and this sequel looks just as good.
