Words are cool (and sometimes cruel)

Words are a way of expressing yourself, just like what I’m doing right now, with this article. It’s crazy that a poem, song, or even a letter and a compliment could impact someone’s life. As words can impact positively, it can--unfortunately--negatively as well.

First, we learn how to write letters, our ABCs

Lowercase and capitals

Then we learn words, by adding letters together

Words-they are how we form sentences and phrases

But at times these sentences we make can result into consequences

People don’t know what they are making people feel when they’re saying online

Or in your face

Harsh words feels like your reputation is looked at as a disgrace

Then there are people out there--musicians, friends, and family--

Who will pick you back up from the feeling of despair

A music concert has words with a beat

So it’s win-win cause they have cool words with a rhythmic sound and melody

Who would’ve thought that a group or a single person could give you goosebumps

Simply because of words and music

They become your inspiration, and an icon

As you sing your heart out knowing every word

It reminds you of the reason why you’re happy to be here,

Co-existent with knowing you have your musicians, family and friends

Right by your side.

Your friends that you meet in your life, they’re pretty cool (and at times, cruel)

As we grow older, we find who our real ones are

Some leave, others stay

Some relationships start to decay, others turn into love

With that one that turns into happily ever after

Everything from late-night errands, watching movies, or

Playing board games, and even late night talks til midnight

Inside jokes that you and your friend(s) understand,

While other people are confused, but you just have to say,

“You had to be there, it was hilarious”

Families are cool too, they’re supportive and always there

Sometimes, your friends families are your family too

When your best friend’s family says, you’re beautiful,

And you have so much potential in you, it makes you feel appreciated

People connect with each other

Whether it’s words, music, and gatherings

Everyone gets together, no matter what.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
