Music is, basically, the key to living. I can't go a day without listening to my favorite playlists that have all my most-listened-to tunes. Historically, music has played a major part in all cultures and in people's identities.
Rainy Day Jams
We all need music for those calm rainy days when there's not much to do but listen to a chill playlist. The steady percussion of the rain will create an awesome background for these songs.
1. "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5
This totally laid-back Maroon 5 song is perfect to relax to on a rainy day. It's got the right kind of vibe for a day where you just want to lay in bed forever. It even mentions "rain is falling," so it's kind of perfect for rainy days.
2. "Sleepyhead" by Passion Pit
First of all, the title says it all. I get so sleepy laying in bed on rainy days. I was just recently introduced to this song, and I absolutely love its unique sound. I love how I can rock out to this song but still have that calm, rainy feeling. The rest of their album is definitely listen-worthy.
Music For When You're Sick
Living in the dorm situation basically guarantees an eternal sickness. When you're sick, you'll want to listen to music, so you don't get bored, but anything too loud or wild, might just tire you out.
1. "Bamboo" by Fossa Beats Remix
This song starts out pretty slow and mellow and gradually adds in a bit of energy as the song progresses. It has a few different elements that give it a fun, yet still mellow vibe.
2. "Pyramids" by Frank Ocean
Honestly, anything by Frank Ocean is great to listen to when you're sick because his music is generally not too fast or wild.
Music For Studying
When I'm studying, I can't listen to anything with lyrics, or I'll start singing along and get way too distracted. That's why I turn to instrumental music to fill my studying needs.
1. Ludovico Einaudi
Einaudi is an Italian pianist and composer who made the soundtrack for the movie, "Les Intouchables." I listen to his music whenever I study because it makes a great background noise without distracting me too much.
2. "The Jurassic Park" soundtrack
Besides being the soundtrack for an awesome movie, this music has a lot of dynamic parts that stop you from getting bored by the mundane studying.
3. Electronic Music
Like the previous two candidates for music to listen to while studying, electronic music has little to no vocal parts and has a lot of stuff going on in it.
Pre-Test Music
Everyone needs a song to pump them up before a big test. A feel-good song that gets you motivated to rock the test.
1. "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen
I listen to this song before every big test or event in my life. This song gives you the feeling you're on top of the world and that, well, nothing can stop you.
Tunes For Sunny Days
These are some of the days you really need to listen to some great rocking songs. These songs have a sunshine feel that make you want to dance.
1. "Kisser" by Step Rockets
2. "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede
3. "Sunrise" by Nora Jones
4. "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire
All of these songs have the perfect upbeat happy feel that are wonderful for warm, sunny days. They bring life to whatever activities you're doing and can really pump you up.
All in all, music is very important for a healthy lifestyle. It can bring out your emotions and get you through a tough day. Make sure to always have a rockin' playlist handy because you never know when you'll need some rad tunes!
