Throughout a child's life, it is important for them to stay well rounded and experience as much as they can. Most elementary schools do an extremely good job at doing that. There are days dedicated to different countries where kids can learn how people of other cultures live their lives, and other days dedicated to reliving history in the most authentic ways possible. Schools go to great lengths to allow children to grow up being well rounded. Being well rounded does not only come from school days being dedicated to different subjects but also from the classes that the students take. Music is one class that can help to ensure that students are well rounded. Some elementary schools are no longer encouraging children to take music classes, other elementary schools are cutting programs completely. Music is important for young children to learn for the following reasons; helps with brain development, builds good habits, self-esteem, gets kids active, and builds creativity.

When children are young it is important to constantly stimulate their brain. The more it is stimulated as a young child, the more opportunities the brain has to make connections and develop. Involving kids in music classes is a great way for kids to be stimulated. Studies have been done for countless years on how music affects brain development. Statistics have found that the earlier kids start and the more years that they put into music the higher the tests scores were. Music not only is enjoyable for the student but also helps set them up for success in the future.

Children who develop good habits and maintain a healthy routine are likely to have a regular routine into adulthood. When children study music, they develop self-discipline and learn to stay focused on specific tasks. Music requires full focus, and constantly practicing full focus. Learning an instrument is challenging enough and it requires a lot of time and practice, so a child is constantly working on their skill of staying focused. When children of the elementary age are learning to stay focused on practicing their instrument of choice, that same habit trickles into how they study. They also understand goal setting. They develop good intuition on long term and short term goals through preparation for lessons and concerts. Developing good instincts on habits and goal setting is important for children to learn at a young age.

For people to be leaders in the future, they need to be creative. Coming up with new ways of how things work and different viewpoints are needed on subjects. If children are not given the opportunity to have creative thoughts, it will be difficult to have creative adults in the future. Creativity provides new improvements and helps to create a better society. Because creativity is being cut short, it could potentially be hard to create an improved future. Provided music classes give children opportunities to grow into creative adults.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
