"You're my person" is something everyone seems to say now. But I don't think anyone really appreciates what it means to have a person.
When someone is your person, they could be a boyfriend/girlfriend but more than likely it's going to be a friend. It's the person you call to hangout with when you need to do something and can't put your finger on what exactly it is. It's the person who knows when you ask "hey can we talk" that that means 911 emergency. Your person will show up at your door no matter if it's 2 pm or 2 am.
Your person is the one you call when you have something that needs burying and doesn't ask any questions. To have a person means there's someone to hold you together when all you want to do is fall apart.
So what happens when it comes time to move on to the next milestone in your life and your paths just aren't the same anymore?
College is scary enough just thinking about the course load. When you start thinking about what you're leaving behind, a whole new world of scary. How are you supposed to take on that much change with out your Yang by your side?
Just like any long distance relationship, it's going to take work. Your person may not be right down the road but they'll still be a phone call away. You'll have to find time in between your busy schedules to fill each other in on everything that's going on in your new stages.
Make sure to send each other your schedules and never forget Skype dates or daily updates. The distance has just given you guys new places to road trip to.
College is full of adventures and those include maintaining connections. As hard as it's going to be moving on without them by your side, just know they'll always have your back. Goodbye doesn't always mean goodbye. You'll always have your person through thick and thin.
