Movies To Watch Before 2016 Ends
Edit by Dominic Turnea

The year 2016 is halfway over, and there have been dozens of movies that have smashed the box office and our hearts (and yes, I'm talking about "Me Before You"). But just because the summer blockbusters are coming to a close, that doesn't mean all the great movies are finished. In fact, there are lots of great movies that are anticipated in 2016. For those who are too busy to browse the internet, looking for new movies to see in 2016, this article is for you. Below will have some of the trailers to preview these new films.

1. "Suicide Squad"

Bad guys never seemed so awesomely good. In this new super villain movie, we are introduced to the baddest villains in the DC Universe, such as the Killer Croc, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and we even get to see The Joker, revamped and played by Academy Award winner Jared Leto. From violence, action, and some appearances from Batman and The Flash, the film is sure to blow up the box office (pun intended). You don't have to be hugely invested in the DC or comic book world; the film is intriguing and entertaining for all. This is definitely one to watch. The movie comes out August 15th.

2. "Bad Moms"

Dads, look away (maybe). The film comes out on July 29th and has already received lots of good reviews from viewers. The film is about "perfect mothers" who are tired of trying to be the perfect mom. They instead do what they want, while trying to take down the PTC moms. With inappropriate humor and Mila Kunis, the movie is sure to be a laugh out loud film.

3. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"

A space opera? Or is that just too out of this world? "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is to be released in December, and is not a prequel nor a sequel. The story chronologically follows the events before "A New Hope" in which the Rebels of the Republic must discover the Empire's new weapon, the one and only: Death Star. Ever since the "awakening" of the Star Wars franchise and the returning popularity of the films, this production is sure to succeed, or at least grab attention for quite some time.

4. "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"

For the die hard Harry Potter Fans, our Muggle selves have waited long enough. New magic, new wizarding icons, and a fresh new look at J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World awaits us. Newt Scamander, a former Hogwarts student, finds himself in New York City; a briefcase filled with magical creatures, some that eventually escape. While dealing with Muggles and the North American Wizarding World, Newt's journey is sure to go down as one of the best adventure films this year. November 18th is when the magic begins again.

5. "Inferno"

If you liked "The DaVinci Code" or "Angels and Demons" then you're sure to like this one, because it is the next book written by Dan Brown (bestselling author of the listed works). Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon, a man who is thrown into the mystery of Dante's Inferno, only to realize that Inferno is not Dante's interpretation of H.E. Double Hockey Stick (hell), but that it's a plague organized by someone. The film comes out October 28th.

These are just some of the many movies that will come out in 2016. I personally will try to see each film, and I look forward to it. Now, which film are you most excited for?

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
