12 Movies To Look Forward To For 2017
Wonder Woman-Official Movie Site

Working at the Box Office in a movie theater, I like to look ahead and see which movies are coming to our theater. As 2016 comes to a close, I wanted to do an article about the best movies, or most anticipated movies being released in 2017, and there are a lot of them!

January: Hidden Figures

The beginning of the year holds many great movie premieres. But I think this film will do extremely well, a story of an African-American woman mathematician who, with the help of her colleagues, helped NASA catch up in the Space Race, making John Glenn the first American Astronaut to orbit the Earth.

February: The Great Wall

This thriller stars Matt Damon, who plays a warrior who is imprisoned in the Great Wall of China, whose job is to find the mysteries behind this wonder of the world.

March: Beauty and the Beast

I’m a little biased with this one. Many fantastic movies will be released in March, including Logan and Power Rangers, but I predict that this will be a hit. This live action depiction of Disney’s classic tale will draw not only young audiences but people in the older generations who grew up loving the story.

April: The Fate of the Furious (Fast & Furious 8)

The highly anticipated movie, the 8th of the series, touching on subjects of crime, betrayal, and trust.

May: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

May is also a big month for movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Baywatch, all being released days apart. But what I’m most excited about is the next movie for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. In this movie, the Guardians travel through the cosmos and struggle to keep their new family together. They also try to help Peter find his true parentage. This is a must see for me.

June: Wonder Woman

Another exciting month for movies! My favorite superhero is getting her own movie, which is well deserved after getting short screentime in this year’s Batman v. Superman. This will definitely be a hit for the DC Universe.

July: Spider-Man: Homecoming

One of Marvel’s favorite characters is coming to the big screen again as a teenager juggling high school and fighting crime. Ironman, his mentor, also makes appearances.

August: Annabelle 2

This exciting horror film will draw big crowds, a story about a dollmaker and his wife becoming haunted by the doll, known as “Annabelle."

September: The Lego Ninjago Movie

Kids movies always do well at our theater. This film is about six young ninjas who fight to save the island they call home, Ninjago.

October: Cloverfield 2017

This story is about an American space station crew who is trapped after a hadron accelerator causes Earth to disappear. One of my favorite actors, John Krasinski, stars in this.

November: Thor: Ragnarok

Marvel superhero and God, Thor, confronts the gods when Asgard is in trouble with Ragnarok, the Norse Apocalypse.

December: Star Wars: Episode VIII

And to end 2017, an exciting year of movies, will be the third consecutive year of Star Wars movies with the release of Episode VIII. This will be the second installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy following the 2015 hit, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And if this next movie is anything like that, it will draw huge crowds and great reviews.

So, if you enjoy movies, these twelve movies are definitely something to look forward to for the new year!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
