Finals are fast approaching and --as much as we all need to study-- it's important to take breaks too. Fortunately for us, Netflix has some awesome movies from our childhood to kick back and watch in between our time trying to be good adults.
1. A Cinderella Story
This was one of my absolute favorite movies when I was younger. High school movies from the early 2000's are nothing short of treasures, and this one definitely fits the bill. Cheesy, cliche, and downright goofy at times, this one will take you back to a simpler time when our most terrifying expectation for high school was that we'd never meet our own Chad Michael Murray.
2. Spy Kids
The Spy Kids series (and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl) were by far the coolest movies of my childhood. Spies were already an awesome concept, but the idea that there were spies that were kids like us was even better (and I know I'm not the only one who loves getting the Spy Kids toys I'm happy meals. Those "gadgets" were the best.)3. Scooby Doo (and Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed)
These live-action interpretations of Scooby Doo and the gang are cinematic gold. I won't lie that they can be a little silly, but we're talking about Scooby Doo here, so it works. The casting was spot-on and the soundtrack for the first movie is one that --when I'm having a bad day-- I still like to listen to.
4. Holes
This was such a great book and movie, and they even managed to slip a few life lessons to us all under our noses. Plus, who doesn't love baby Shia LaBeouf?
5. Sky High
This didn't really fall into that early 2000's high school film genre that A Cinderella Story did, but it still has that fun, cheesy Disney movie vibe. I'm also pretty sure we were all disappointed we couldn't go to superhero high school after this movie came out.
