The football season is finally going to start with 24 giants of Europe going head to head to be crowned the best European football team. The world has seen a lot in the last one year. The Euro 2020 which was scheduled last year were postponed by a year due to the pandemic situations.

Now as per few reports, UEFA is firm on organizing the Euro. And why not? The football leagues across Europe are being successfully operated. The situation last year was different, as no one had any idea about the COVID 19 disease. Now, with few COVID 19 guidelines, the organizers are confident of Euro 2021.

1. Michel Platini

The French attacking midfielder captained France to Euro championships in 1984. He captained the team on home soil and his individual contribution to France's success was immense. Out of the total 14 goals scored by France in the 1984 Euro, 9 were scored by Michel Platini. He also has a hat-trick to his name during the journey to nine goals. His 9 goals in five games in 1984, makes him the leading goal scorer in Euro. He is tied with Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo

How can you keep this man out of any record books? Well, he is tied at the first position with Michel Platini and is on verge of creating a new record at the upcoming Euro. Ronaldo has nine goals in 21 matches played for Portugal at Euro. He has been part of four Euros (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016). In 2016, Ronaldo led the team to their first major tournament win.

3. Alan Shearer

Alan, widely recognized as one of the best to have played the Premier League is third on the list of all time goalscorer at Euro. Alan represented England and was part of the squad for 1992, 1996 and 2000 Euro. His 7 goals in 9 matches for England did help England to win matches but his efforts were not enough to take England to championship victory.

4. Antoine Griezmann

The emerging talent of France, Antoine Griezmann is fourth in this list. He represented France at Euro 2016 and managed to score six goals from 7 appearances. His efforts helped the French team reach the finals of Euro 2016. They were eventually beaten by Ronaldo's Portugal but Griezmann's efforts rewarded him with golden boot and was named the tournament's best player. He also earned a spot in the team of the tournament.
