The Most Basic Halloween Costumes

Its finally October, and we all know what that means. Halloween is just around the corner. People think of Halloween costumes either months ahead, or wait until the actual night of a party to figure out what they want to be. Well, here's the 10 most basic Halloween costumes everyone will be wearing this year, including you probably.

1. Clown: seriously if you do this you are just a messed up individual. You will also talk to no one that night due to the fact that people are terrified of you.

2. Harley Quinn: Will you look like a bad-ass? Yes. Will 25 other people also look identical to you? Yes again.

3. Cat/Tiger/Mouse: Yes being an animal is adorable, but we also use the dog filter on Snapchat every single day of our lives.

4. Kanye & Kim Kardashian: I'd be lying if I said I wasn't considering being Kanye (odds are I will be). However, there are much better options. Get creative and be Kanye and his ego.

5. Homeless: I swear, I see this every year. People dress up and wear signs that say, "need money for _____". Half of us wear sweatpants and flannels every day, cmon guys.

6. Devil: I was a devil last Halloween, no shame.

7. Angel: Odds are if you dress as an angel for the night, you'll end up acting like the devil.

8. Sugar skull: this is a prime example of what not to do.

9.Football player: wearing a jersey and booty shorts would not be the best way to play football.

10. A Frat Boy: everyone will be this at some point in their lives. It's cute, easy and as basic as it gets.

Don't be ashamed if you are going to be any of these for Halloween. Honestly, Halloween is almost impossible to not dress up as something on this list. Eat some candy, and be basic this year.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
