We all know the stories of the superheroes who save the day. The ones who fly and stop the bad guys. The Superheroes that the whole world knows about.
What about the ones that the world overlooks? The ones who have a strength like no other? The ones that go by the name of “Mom?”
She is the superhero who has an immeasurable amount of patience. The one who makes you wonder how in the world she can remain calm and put together when the world around her is nothing but chaos. She is the one who has said the same thing time and time again, but instead of becoming frustrated, she continues to say it with the same amount of love that she used the first time.
She is the one who has never come across a stranger. The first time you meet her, it is as if you have known her your whole life. She could talk to anyone.
She is the one who is always standing right there ready to give you a hug and a smile. She wants to know about your day: the good and the bad. She wants to listen, to hear you, and to always be there for you.
She is the one whose world could crumble and she would still put you first. She won’t let you know her pain because she would never what it to become your pain.
She is the one who could be heartbroken and still smile and say, “I love you.”
She is the one who will never let you feel alone or be alone.
She is the one who is your number one cheerleader and your biggest fan. She will always give you a standing ovation.
She is the one that supports you in everything you do. The one who takes you to countless rehearsals or practices, never once complaining. The one who will say she loved a show, but who has no clue what even happened in the show because she was too busy watching you.
She is the one who spoils you, never once looking for a “thank you.”
She is the one who doesn’t see how amazing she is, but she should.
She is the one who doesn’t realize that people are better with her in their lives.
She is the one that makes people smile more, laugh louder, and cry less.
She is the one who takes on more than she can handle in order to make life easier for others. She is the one who will be satisfied with having nothing as long as the people she loves have everything.
She is the one who never gives up, never stops trying, and never settles.
She saves the day every single day. She dries tears. She takes away the pain. She loves with everything she has. She is a role model without even trying.
Her strength far surpasses that of a superhero. She is much more. She is my mom. My hero.
