To the one who loves me most...
Mom,
God gave me you for the ups and downs, and even if we did get to pick our family, I’d choose you every time. This letter to you isn't just to boast about how awesome and loving you are, but it also is a thank you because life gets in the way so I don’t say those words enough. You are the reason I am who I am and for that, I’m so proud to call you my mom. You’re not only beautiful on the outside, but you shine from within because you are so loving, compassionate and giving. I hope to be half the woman you are one day, so I can be the strong mother like you are to me. Thank you for pushing me and supporting me through all the rocky times and for lifting me higher in my successes. Here’s why I’d like to thank you.
- You are my rock because when I feel like crumbling, you’re always there to hold me together. You’ve seen me at my best and you’ve seen me at my lowest points, but you always show me love and care when I am convinced I’m unlovable. I don’t ever question our bond because you’ve never once disappointed me, whether it’s late night talks about how I am feeling, what I am confused about or what I want to do next with my life. You are open ears to me and you will never truly know how thankful I am for that, Mom.
- You are always down to do whatever because you love when we get to bond and have a good time together. Whether it’s a concert or a day of shopping, we spend hours and hours chatting, laughing and singing along to our favorite songs. Thank you for coming up with weekend getaways and adventures so we would have endless memories to reminisce on. We always have such a good time together and I thank you for always being down to try out that new restaurant or take a day trip to the beach. As I’ve gotten older, I appreciate all the time we get to spend together.
- You are the perfect role model, and I’m so lucky to have you to look up to. You inspire me to be a better person because you are so goal-oriented, talented and genuine. Whether it’s you going back to school and getting your master’s degree or the way you are towards others, I am in awe of you. Thank you for showing me it’s OK to choose your happiness and it’s OK to change your mind; thank you for showing me to learn from my mistakes and not to hold onto pain. You are my role model and you always will be.
- You rock for being my number one supporter throughout the years. Years of club volleyball, track meets, tennis matches and academic endeavors, you were always there, cheering me on. I appreciate all the good luck texts, cheers from the sidelines and pep talks to get me through the tournament, I couldn’t have done it without you. As I grow up, you continue to support me through finding out my career path, volunteering, having a job and making new friends in organizations and knowing you’re always on my side makes it all a little easier.
- You give me the reality checks I need; thank you for putting me in place. Although we may bicker or not see eye to eye every time, mother always knows best. You let me know when I’m being selfish or a brat, and you’re always right. I may get mad, but I’m thankful you always tell me how it is and don’t let me get away with being snooty. You’re the real MVP.
- It’s never a dull moment with us. Thank you for making me laugh about everything because we always have excitement going on around us. We can have the most hectic days together or watch a movie on the couch, we always have the best of times. Thank you for making my life exciting and full of unexpected adventures.
Thank you, Mom, for giving me the best life because you give me more than I could ever need. You’ve taught me an abundance of life lessons while showing what a loving mother should be like. You are my favorite person in the whole world and I’m way too lucky to call you Mom because the bond we have is everlasting and I look forward to all the years of fun and excitement to come. Thank you, Mom. I love you so much.
