Upon the close of football season, baseball fanatics everywhere pick up their old gloves and make a run for the field; because it's now their season.
The Philadelphia Phillies, a Major League Baseball team popular among Pennsylvania residents, has just released their Spring Training schedule for 2017. For those who don't know, spring training is a series of exhibition games that the MLB schedules prior to the start of the regular season in April. Spring training is a nice introduction back into the game for all teams, but especially for teams who reside in parts of the US where winter hits the hardest. The Phillies, in particular, are one of those teams. The Philies face opponents such as The Yankees, The Orioles, and The Blue Jays, all in the month of February. (Full schedule below.) For PA fans, this sport means spring is on its way, and the dreaded winter will stop wreaking havoc. Although there are still a few weeks left, at least we have baseball to start to cheer us up right in time for spring.
