Wisdom teeth, the one thing that ninety percent of college kids have to deal with and most have a complete misconception about.

Some are blessed without them, but most are cursed with them and with that being said, have to go through the lengthy process of wisdom teeth removal.

I, personally, had to have mine removed during this most recent Christmas break and let me just tell you... It was the worse experience of my life.

Everyone makes it seem like you're gonna be so loopy when you finish your wisdom teeth surgery, yet in reality, you're not.

The first thing you realize when you get out of surgery is the painful gauzes that they shoved halfway down your throat to stop the excessive bleeding and having no feeling whatsoever in your face.

Within an hour of post surgery, you will be in an awful amount of pain and forced take the pain medicine they prescribed you. Sadly, it doesn't necessarily make you feel better but it does make you sleep like no joke.

When you're doctor tells you that you'll approximately only need two to three recovery days after surgery to return to normal activity, they lied.

Not only are you still in pain after those days, but you are too embarrassed to go anywhere because your face is swollen up like a balloon. I truly felt like I looked a hundred pounds heavier and like an abnormal creature, but maybe I'm just being dramatic.

Just when you thought you're face might swell down in a few days... well, my face was swollen for a solid week in a half. At least you've been warned and hopefully have a better experience than I did. The good thing is, if you make it through having your wisdom teeth removed then you can make it through anything!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
