Can Rowling's all famous Harry Potter destroy your mindset?

Does reading a simple fantasy book turn your child into a devil worshiper?

Can Rowling's all famous Harry Potter destroy your mindset?

Many of you know about the Harry Potter series, right? You know the kid with the zig zag mark on his head and his enemy is a nose less guy who has absolutely no fashion sense. Yeah, that one. I, for one, have not read a single book of Harry Potter and I regret it and plan to binge read it soon. Back to the topic, Harry Potter and his use of witchcraft. Of course, magic has a great hand to do with the whole Harry Potter series, but many religious people believe that this book is the work of the devil and that it will posses children into doing wicked things. I honestly feel like a true devil worshiper for just thinking about reading a simple children's book as some Christians say. Now don't get me wrong, I am a Christian as well, but I honestly don't believe that Harry Potter is a realm for the devil's craft, honestly the book is for children to open their imagination and stray away from problems such as social media, bullying etc., and just let their imagination go wild.

The high amounts of wizardry, goodness, and fantasy in this book have all parents debating whether or not their young, immature child’s mind should be reading such books; but to many people there is no debate as more than a few believe that Harry Potter is an alternative access to the Devil and his practice.

Since a child’s mind is immature, Christian parents steer clear of these books because casting magic, spiritual orbs, flying brooms, talking animals and more may seem fun to a child, but parents believe that their children will not be able to know reality from fiction.

As some parents who have read the book themselves believe that Voldemort himself is actually the Devil. (I mean wow he kinda is in the books but that's not the point.

The fascination that children have developed for the ongoing magic use while reading the Harry Potter series makes major worries for many religious parents to cut of the book and lead the child away from such evil thoughts. (And I get that parents want to protect their children from any harm, but instead parents are just forcing their children to stay away from fiction books and close off their imagination. It's the good part about being a child, having an imagination.)

Many know that with every hero must come a villain. What is the hero to do when he has nothing to save? This in turn makes this series a childish cliché book that is just for entertainment and an alternate distraction.

Harry Potter himself is a good role model for all children because he has overcome all the hardships that has come his way. Harry Potter can also be a person to sympathize with as he lost his parents to Voldemort at such a young age. He faced his fears, believed in his friendship, and the pure of this world. Reading the Rowling’s books lured children away from technology, making them focus on the story itself with all its humor, adventure and friendship.

Overall, these books are inspiring and just painfully simple that many like to think is over the top, but it's just a book to sit down and relax with.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
