Miles Teller is one of the best actors in Hollywood. I will fight you on this fact. From the time I saw him say "sexier than a rooster in socks" in "Footloose," I knew that he was someone to keep my eye on, and I wasn't wrong.
1. "Footloose"
Playing the dorky best friend, Willard, of the gorgeous Ren McCormack (played by Kenny Wormald), you would think that he would fade into the background, but Teller did just the opposite. His line "sexier than a rooster in socks" is still repeated around my friend group from the night we went to see it when it was released in theaters. It was in this movie that I first got a look at this charming, goofy, awkwardly cute rising star.
2. His relationships with his co-stars
He's one of those people that truly wants to see others succeed and acknowledges the people who have helped him achieve his success. Whether it's Michael B. Jordan winning the Best Actor BET Award or Brie Larson winning awards for her work in "Room," he is always sure to send out a congrats tweet.
3. "The Spectacular Now"
A movie that should have done much better than it did. Starring beside Shailene Woodley, Teller plays Sutter Keely, an incredibly complex character that doesn't seem to have much happening on the surface, but Teller manages to bring the small nuances that Tim Tharp put in the book to the screen, even if the specific scenes didn't make it into the movie.
4. "That Awkward Moment"
And here is another role where Miles Teller's performance could have easily slid into the background, especially beside Mr. Zac Efron himself, but still eyes were drawn to him. And let's be honest, anyone that can make me look away from Zac Efron when they share a screen deserves all of the awards.
5. "Divergent" Series
He can even play a bad guy. The thing is, you don't even hate him too much, because how can you? The sarcastic comments sound so natural coming from his mouth as Peter, and you love him even more for it.
6. He can rock blonde OR brunette
Teller recently debuted his blonde 'do at the premiere of his new movie, "War Dogs" and proved to the world that he looks good no matter what.
7. "The Fantastic Four"
Let's be honest, any time a guy plays a superhero, he automatically gets at least a whole point higher on the hotness scale. This does not count for guys who wear superhero costumes to frat parties on Halloween. Sorry, dudes, but unless you look like Chris Evans under the Captain America mask, it's a no-go.
8. "Two Night Stand"
Miles Teller plays Alec which is "like a first draft of a name," but it's a great movie regardless. This movie includes one of my favorite quotes from a movie ever. "That guy is so screwed. He thinks that you’re a certain type of a girl, and he thinks that he will meet that same type of girl later in his life when he’s ready. But when he’s ready, that girl’s not going to be there. He has no idea how rare you are." It's a totally cheesy rom-com type of movie, but for a more mature audience. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. I mean, see GIF above with him making "googly eyes." It's adorable and heart-melting.
In review, Miles Teller is a gorgeous human being who can do no wrong. He picks the best roles, making sure to not be type-cast, can still garner attention even when Zac Efron is on screen, and is an awesome human being.
